I was looking for this set (2093) for a long time. I managed to get both a sealed
and loose one (the loose one I got more recently). I'm so happy that I have
both one for display and one to play with!

Just realised that this product was recalled, that’s why it isn’t in the catalogue
and probably never will be.

BrickEconomy lists it as extremely rare - better hold onto it then!
Is the Primo theme uncommon in general?

I was collecting in the 90's and I remember occasionally seeing it in small
displays but it disapeared pretty shortly. Lego wasn't doing super well in
the early 2000's.

I've literally never found it in a bulk lot. I'd say its pretty rare.

BTW - do someone knows why it's been retired?

Maybe some metal balls inside to make noise (didn't play with it) that could
leak out?

I see them now and then in the netherlands. Maybe rare in US, less so in Europe?
I don't have one, but probably could if someone wanted one.

Now I want that set. My favorite Primo piece is the tree (31609) because it
fits well with my Duplo forest, and the toddler likes this piece a lot. I also
really like the Caterpillar and the train. Until now, I didn't look at all
the Primo available, but only searched on it if I was in a store buying other
stuff.

The one thing that the Mega brand blocks have, that Duplo and Quatro do not,
is the slightly curved top edge making it easier for the toddler to get the pieces
together. But this feature is limited to the Quatro size. The Primo has this,
even better than the Mega brand. The primo also fits on the Duplo.

My 15 month old niece is just now able to get two Duplo pieces together easily.
She still has some trouble, depending on the piece, but has had a lot of successful
connections recently. She has no trouble with the Primo. She does better with
the Quatro than the Duplo but not much.

This particular Primo set was said to be a choking hazard so I would not recommend
for collectors who have small children, but all the other Primo sets should be
fine for babies.
I'm disabled and it's hard for me to work with System sets except for
the 4+ ones which are designed to be very simple builds. Also the cartoon characters
that are reserved for the Duplo (and equivalent for non-Lego brands) are more
appealing to me.
Some time ago I bought Blue's Clues Leapbuilders minifigs - they can sit
on top of Duplo but don't actually lock into place.

I can't remember where I saw it but I saw a teenager that had dexterity issues
and he would build these huge duplo mocs. I always thought it was pretty awesome

Sometime I hope to get the Primo soft rattles, which seem to be designed to fit
around the studs. I enjoy things with sounds and textures. I already have an
open box Explore Being Me Curly Hanging Rattle 5443.
I think the Mega Bloks figures are similar to Primo scale, although they don't
quite fit on top of Primo.

I'm dating myself, but we got the caterpillar for our eldest daughter soon
after she was born and she loved it.
