Nearly always to be found if you've got the playbook

It must have been trying days for many here, though. Troublesome, at the least.
I gotta say, for me, it was glorious once I was able to switch to silver-lining
mode. Liberating, even

It was nice to get away. To not care or even think about the usual, was cathartic.
Actually came here to share with you all, some pics of the beautiful Pacific
coast. Maybe lift some spirits... But it seems pic files are a no-go in the forum
at this time? Maybe another time.

From one that lives on the Pacific coast in So Cal as you do, Kevin, I get
it. I'm talking about the northern coastline, especially that of Oregon.

For years, I've surfed most of the coastal areas of So Cal, from where you
live outside of Santa Barbara down to just north of San Diego... Not the same,
trust me. The pics would suffice as a reply, if I could load them

Thanks, Russell. But still unable. Getting a "403 Forbidden" (in Danish)
page, when I attempt to upload a pic file to the forum.

What size?  What format (jpg, png, gif)?

I just uploaded a 800x3000 jpg (around 500k) without any problem: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1438044

Saw that and others, Sylvain. Thanks

JPEG, as I've always used. But I did fart around with the PNG format too,
didn't work either. As to the size: it's well within the parameters.
Again, as previously used here. And I did try reducing the files further, smaller
didn't work.

But what exact size(s) (in pixels and kbytes)?

Because “used to” doesn’t work any more, some things seem to have been changed,

Let me try and clarify: it matters not how small I make the pic files (pixels
or bytes) all attempts yield the same "403 FORBIDDEN" page

Is the error appearing when adding the picture using "upload image - choose
file" or when you click to post the message in the forum?
I've just tried adding an image to a post in all my different browsers and
its working. I was hoping to replicate the error in chrome but I can't

Cory, try downloading an image from BL (for instance your ID pic: right-click
and “Save Image as…” or something similar), it will give you a JPEG file (70750.jpg)
that you can then try to upload in a forum post.
If it works, that will mean something is now considered “wrong” with your images.
If it doesn’t, then it will mean the problem is not with the images.

Thanks for whittling it down yet further, Sylvain! Just need to figure out why
my images are "now considered wrong"

Not seemingly the only one with that quandary just now, doesn't help much
either...

The .jpg extension actually covers different formats and subformats.
It can be quite complicated to find the guilty ‘option’ to explain the problem.
I don’t think it’s necessary to go further anyway because all the subformats
should be accepted (or, at least, there should be a useful/clear error message)
and knowing it’s the format and not the size or a handling error should be sufficient
for the devs.
But, at worse, they can ask for an example file.

Thank you for helping me understand more fully. I'll stop trying to troubleshoot

Popsicle,
Have you been able to figure out what is wrong with your pictures and why you
were getting the "403 forbidden" error? I am getting the same error message
and would like to fix it so I can upload some pictures.
