| | Hi everyone, I have a very strage situation I am adding too. I wanted to get some second thoughts on.
I had a buyer buy a sealed battle of the black gate from me. Payment went smooth
especially since it was his first buy, I communicated every step with him and
shipped his package off within 24 hours. Upon delivery he was not at home and
since it was a $500 set I added the signature option, it was then taken to the
nearest Canada post awaiting his pickup. I followed up with him sending 3 separate
Bricklink messages letting him know that he had to pick it up, I used both Bricklink
and his email. 1 Month later I still havent heard from this guy and I have now recieved the package back. I am just holding it for another month or so, after that point I think ill just relist it.
|
(new addition to the story)
That is only the first part of the story now, Today I had a $600 order for a
sealed UCS Republic Gunship (huge order for a tiny store like me). Buyer has
over 100 positive ratings, everything seemed good. I invoived and upon recieving
payment it is the SAME paypal account as the previous guy 2 months ago who didnt
pick up his package. I can click show history on Paypal and it is sure enough
the same account. I have a few more questions for you guys now. Keep in mind
this new buyer is living in the States and the first guy was in Ontario.
1. Is it possible its someone with the same Paypal name, I am not experienced
with selling but is this even possible, its a very rare name. Also would I be
able to press show history and Paypal shows the account as the same, it seems
unlikely its a differnet account.
2. Do i send a message to this new buyer and ask about any of this stuff or would
that be some kind of a privacy issue?
3. I am worried that something will happen and I will end up losing $100s in
the whole mess and I would just like to avoid any problems or sending my UCS
set and then getting the money taken back or something.
Any help is greatly appricated I am very lost

| There is no problem contacting the buyer and asking if they are the same person
who ordered from you previously.

Do the email addresses match?
You can't have the same email address on two different Paypal accounts.
The buyer should be more than happy to communicate on such a large order. I would
send messages to both actual email address and via BL messaging system, because
sometimes people miss one or the other.

The Bricklink emails do not match, I cant see and detailts about the buyer on
Paypal other than name and transaction ID etc. I have sent both a bricklink message
and email. Yes you would think you would follow up on a large order but if it
is the same person history says differnt haha

| Perhaps its just 2 people with similar names? you say the accts and emails are
different. so its most likely not the same person.

It's the BrickLink accounts that are different. OP can't see the PayPal
account.
It's not unheard-of for a would-be buyer to open up a new account on BL.

It almost sounds as if the person did a trial run with an item with your store,
and was hoping to give it time to pass over and now sounds to me that the person
is going to try it again but in a different area. sounds sketchy to me, if i
were you i would take all precautionary. if you messaged me about something like
this, i would not be upset or mad, i would be kind of curious on the issue you
asked me about lol but that is me, it's a new era out there.

I have not returned it yet. I wanted to talk to the buyer about it, if he still
wanted it but didnt pick it up I could just resend it to him. After a month I
guess ill just cancel it and refund, do I get all the fee money back that I already
payed? Plus im out a bit on shipping but I get its not a big deal
