Part No: 3039pb041 Name: Slope 45 2 x 2 with Radar and Disk Slot Pattern

Parts: Slope, Decorated {White}
and
 
Part No: 3039pb041 Name: Slope 45 2 x 2 with Radar and Disk Slot Pattern

Parts: Slope, Decorated {Black}
are actually two different patterns: the black one doesn’t have painted black
outlines.

Should they be split?  Or should a note be added?  Or does no one care?

I believe there is a precedent that was not split, but did have a note. If only

The first has White squares on Black background, the second has Black squares

Yeah, and it would cause a lot of wrong lots in stores I guess.

Actually, both versions are in LDraw (and had been for a long time) and my question
stems from this post on the Studio forum https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?t=9664
because Studio uses the “wrong” one

Technically speaking, yes.

This would be the easiest. I have a long list of items like this in the catalog
that should be officially split but haven't been due to time constraints.

That is the consensus, so things like this are extremely low priority.
