| I have one copy of this:
I can't find that ID anywhere on it — mine has 2298628 on the sleeve (likely
a standard element ID), and GEN-DEMO-02 on the disk. Could we add those as alt
IDs, or at least in the description? My cover looks identical to the existing
photo.

Why can I search by Element ID but there's no way to view an item's element
ID? Clearly the information exists in the database.

Indeed.
For parts, we can see them in the “Color Images” page (link on the left of the
part’s image, then scroll down to see the table), but for Gears…?

There is nowhere a link to this page, and no Element ID's mentioned for this
gear yet, but I assume it will become visible on this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?itemType=G&itemNo=IB2G-ISXDEMO&v=2

Gear items cannot have Element ID data attached to them through a PCC field.
The PCC data is specifically set up for only the Part item type to be able to
use. However, an Element ID can be placed in a Gear item's Alternate Item
No. field if necessary.
