Definition "store clearance"
countable noun. A clearance sale is a sale in which the goods in a shop are sold
at reduced prices, because the shopkeeper wants to get rid of them quickly or
because the shop is closing down.
You are not selling at reduced prices, and you are not closing down. Why do you
keep on trying to mislead buyers instead of just running a regular honest store?

hello, so I don't run an honest store? I have a discount of 10,15 and 20
percent on the 6-month average price and that is not fair? I just get back and
forth from people in general that they just want to keep small stores small,
well big boy I still have enough parts and figs and sets to put online and this
just happens. and then every order I It doesn't go to you, so think about
why the order was placed with me and not with you
|
I just do not understand why you have to mislead buyers with daily false statements
about having a clearance sale. It just make you look like a scammer to the minority
of Bricklink users who actually read the forum.
I have said absolutely nothing about your price level. I do not care about that
at all. You can set your prices at a 10% of the average if you like. But calling
it a clearance sale when it is not a sale at all, is false advertising.
Look at all the sellers who have run a successful store for 10 or 20 years here:
do they spam the forum with lies every day to attract buyers? I doubt that any
of the sales you have are because of your forum posts. In fact I think you have
lost a lot of sales by doing this.
I am just trying to be helpful; if you want some advise on how to run a store,
just PM me and I will give you good honest help to the best of my ability. As
I have done for a number of other sellers, and other sellers has done for me.

Hi.
Looks to me this is about a mis used word; instead of the use of clearance.
The word Sale would be sufficient here.
That said;
I also understand why smaller stores would be competing with lower prices then
the average.
But i see sales all time time and sales on sale do affect the 6th month sales
average.
I also have a small store, with no overhead. So it does not affect me that much..
But the bigger stores that do have monthly overhead will feel these decreasements
in price.
If the prices get lowered upon lowered it will be harder for all stores to make
a decent profit; resulting in more orders with yet more discounts..
Untill a tipping point is reached and stores close massively..
Best of wishes.

My main point is that the OP is not having a sale as he claims; he set a price
and then always have the same % off. Then it is not a sale price, it is his regular
price. If on the other hand he start to advertise that he has price 20% lower
than the 6 month average, then I have no problem with it. (depending that the
prices actually are 20% lower than the average of course)

Hi.
Ic , i missed out on that.
I did see this post more often but not aware of the complete history.
Then it does make it feel like a scam indeed.
Depending on if this store is a registerd business in the netherlands;
A non bricklink way of adressing it could be done.
Through a gouverment entity..
Altough i dont think its worth any effort at all..
Something slightly offtopic; i did send you that PM about any help to improve
my store.
Kind day.

hello, so if I sell Lego with a 20% discount, even if I were to do this all year
round, more people would sell at a discount, and suddenly there should be a judicial
investigation into me, what are we doing here...... So advertising and giving
discounts is not allowed?
|
Hi rick.
It is not about the discount..
When you hold those prices all year or longer; it is the normal price you sell
them for.
Although they will be 20% cheaper as the 6 month average, it is not a discount.
Advertising it as a discount is misleading then because; it is no discount but
reduced pricing that is permanent..
I get the feeling this discussion is hinderd some way;
Im more then happy to communicate in Dutch ; as english is noticeable not our
native language , your free to send an PM..

This have been explained to you many times. If you have a 20% discount all year
and call it a clearance sale (or just a sale), you are breaking European sales
laws. You are doing false, illegal marketing. But of course your store is so
small that you will not be investigated and charged. But larges stores has been
fined huge sums for similar offences.
Yes you can advertise, and you can give all the discounts that you like, and
set your prices as low as you like. But calling your standard prices a sale is
illegal marketing. And it makes you look bad.

+100000% agreed
But he doesn't care, see his previous reply months ago:
| Not quite sure what that has to do with anything that was being said.
We were referring to the never ending sale

because i like that

But what happens is that doing so he's going in more and more Least Favorite

of making pseudo Sales) may probably end all this.

Rick - you’d have more sales success by adding more inventory to your store as
opposed to spamming the forum daily with sales posts and reducing prices. More
inventory = more sales, even without being below the 6 month average. Would rather
see daily posts here of “added x” more parts to my inventory today, come take
a look.

It's all nice, even if I were to upload 1500 parts and 25 minifigs, I wouldn't
sell anything yet because certain people wouldn't let me.and not that I haven't
uploaded any new parts today and more than enough new figs
|
So basically you're saying that sellers with 1016, 9071, 23061 and 50777
Feedback Profile don't know anything - and you know better?
This is my winner-in-Feedback-number advice:
* ameliorate so you don't have this many Negatives/Neutrals,
* make real Sales, good ones (20% isn't probably enough), but during a short
time,
* make a good genereal pricing (for when you're not in Sale),
* work on Shop Terms, Shipping Methods, payment modes, currencies and such,
* add regularly new parts/lots (not by batches once per month for example).
Then you'll get sales naturally.
