Does anyone know of a tool that can take a list of parts (e.g. a BL wanted list
or BrickStore file) and print them (or format them in a file that I can then
print) in a grid similar to how set inventories at the back of instructions
look or how BrickSet and ReBrickable set inventories look?

I know I can print in a list via BrickStore but that wastes both paper and ink.

(1) Quick and dirty:
If you have a page that shows just what you need to see, copy the html page to
a multi-column Word-document so you can format it quickly as you like.

If you just want the part images, a convoluted way is to write the part numbers
as macro tags — or use Excel to format your list as "[p=" + partnr
+ "," + colornr +"]" — and paste that in the forum post editor.
Use the preview button and copy the resulting html into a multi-column Word document
as described before.

(2) Professional BOM:
Import the list into Studio and use the instruction maker to add the BOM to your
pages.

Thanks for the info, studio BOM is exactly what I needed. I was trying to build
an inventory of all the parts in all the Ice Planet 2002 sets and I could import
each one into studio as parts laid out in the scene, combine all the parts into
one single scene then use the building instructions mode to generate a BOM with
all the parts from all the sets listed in it (except for a couple really large
parts that I removed just to save paper and ink since its not hard to remember
to grab those few specific pats) and now I can find all the parts I need to build
all my Ice Planet sets.
