+1 did he bring 9/11 into this?

Come on. Don't do this. He's apologizing for his misdeeds, and you shouldn't
pick on him for it.

I genuinely couldn’t understand half of what he said on the first 2 reads not
trying to pick on anyone

Despite not having chimed-in, I’ll go ahead and consider myself one of the “other
bricklink sellers”

Though you’ve been around for some time it seems, you’re perhaps not too familiar
with BL’s forum? You should understand that being stoplisted as a result of forum
banter, is in my experience entirely inconsequential to a productive member.
It’s often the same few dozen forum regulars who throw around the threat, out
of 64,000 or so BL sellers, of which a relatively small percentage read the forum
regularly if at all. And if you take the time to look closer at some of the more
vocal forum stoplisters, you might even start to view the action from such individuals
as a boon. In other words, don’t fret something that's toothless.

As to your behavior as a buyer: Not having read the entire thread, I don’t pretend
to understand fully, but think I get the gist - A solid rule if you’d like to
maintain good business relations and continue to transact with another, is to
be reasonably "painless” as my father would phrase it. That is to say, as
a seller make it easy to buy, and as a buyer, don’t tax the seller overly. Remember
time is a commodity that can't be amassed by either party. If a vendor can’t
or won’t meet your expectations as buyer (deemed reasonable or not), don’t try
and force it, move on to vendors that are willing.

You might also want to start creating notes on those you’ve transacted with using
the My Notes On Members feature, and make use of The Favorite Stores feature
to create most/least favorite seller lists.

There are only 17,256 sellers as of this post, but your point still stands.

There are 64,766 sellers but only 17,251 stores are open.

That's curious. What figure is that, currently open stores? As to members
registered as seller, I get another number

Yes, currently open stores. I feel that is a better representation of who would
block OP. If a seller does not have an open store, why would they stop list OP?
Is SylvainLS or Randyf going to stop list the seller, they could, but why?

And TIL, there are a lot of inactive sellers.

To have any admin account, you have to have a store, and I believe Sylvain and
I are in the same boat. We actually don't operate stores, so they are always
closed and just there for show. So, you are correct, I have no reason to put
anyone on a stop list. I do find it funny that there are people who have listed
me as a favorite store. And, of course, I am on some stop lists because I post
in the forums. Their loss. I make big orders.

And TIL, there are a lot of inactive sellers.

I think most of those are users that wanted to catalogue their collections using
Bricklink catalog as a base.

That what I figured after I posted. We do have the best Lego catalog.

Maybe because they want to buy from you knowing you likely have listed the correct
item, variant, and color.

Yes, “open a store and keep it closed” was a frequent suggestion for people who
wanted to manage their collection.
Especially when BrickStore was abandonned, and then when BrickStock was.

I understand. But from experience, the assumption is somewhat flawed.

I, as well as others I’m aware of, close and open our stores periodically without
ever factoring that into our stoplist choices. I for certain don’t, anyway. Just
common sense, unless planning to never reopen and have permanently closed, and
there are doubtless quite a few such still registered sellers within that 64,000
number too.

No, I think somewhere between the two numbers lies the actual number of truly
active sellers.

Hi,

I'm not saying this to be rude. But you should write your messages with some
interpunction. One long sentence is difficult to read.

Also known as punctuation.

As far as I know from experiencing similar messages he might be using speech
to text in a phone to write the posts.

Could be. I had assumed "his" native language was Dutch. Which if you're
correct, would explain the diction and breaks in translation.
