I am in the process of designing a minifig pilot figure for my Starfighter MOC.
I have been considering adding an oxygen tank to the pilot. I have been out of
the loop for too long and don't remember what parts might fit with/under
eachother.

The pilot figure will be equipped with a helmet, would the O2 tanks fit?

Hi, older '80s Classic Space sets featured minifigs (eg. sp004) with helmet
and oxygen tanks between torso and head. So I think it shouldn't be a problem.
A small problem might arise when trying to make the fig sit on a 4079b utensil
seat.
