A few years ago I took an old set from Lego's Galaxy Squad, #70701 Swarm
Interceptor and used it as the basis for a MOC.

The original MOC was quite similar in appearance to the set it was built from.
However, I just spent quite a bit of time modifying the model so it no longer
resembles the official set it started life as.

The final model which I have named "Starfighter" looks very different
from the Swarm Interceptor. It has become a design entirely of my own. Check
it out!

The whole thing is white right now because I haven't yet decided on the color
scheme.

The only 'right' answer is classic space blue, lt grey and trans yellow!

Sadly, this

Part No: 92279  Name: Windscreen 6 x 4 x 2 Round with Bar Handle
*
92279 Windscreen 6 x 4 x 2 Round with Bar Handle
Parts: Windscreen

doesn't come in trans-yellow, or trans-dark blue or trans-green which would
also be acceptable for classic space trim.

It does come in trans-red so a color scheme like the one used here might work:

Set No: 6986 Name: Mission Commander
*
6986-1 (Inv) Mission Commander
448 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1989
Sets: Space: Space Police I

I am reusing the original windscreen that came with the Swarm Interceptor. It
used part #92279 in trans-clear for the windscreen. Since I already have it,
I am going to go with a trans-clear windscreen.

I just spent the last several hours selecting and assigning the colors. Here
she is, in her final painted glory!
