Hi everyone,
new member here. I'd like to know if making offers to sellers is acceptable
on bricklink.com?
Obviously there is no built in feature for it like on ebay.

Thanks!

Man sollte immer nach einem Preisnachlaß fragen können.

Of course, it's fine, but bring much details, like a copy/paste of your full
cart.

But apart if it's a really impressive amount, chances are you won't get
a better price.

Because that's what BrickLink is: shops with (fixed) prices, not auctions
like eBay.

It depends on the offer. If you offer well under market price, prepare to be
stoplisted from that store.

Not by this store Such a move makes little sense to me.

Simply reply with "Thanks, but no thanks" followed by what you're
actually willing to do. If they counter, a simple "no thanks" to put
a finer point on your position.

I could've stoplisted some, but didn't.

The guy comes and say "Hey, I love this item, but can you make it at 50%
off?" (and not even for a huge quantity or value).

Sometimes I simply prefer to not even reply, as knowing me I could be a bit too
harsh

The natural inclination for me as well, not to reply avoiding any harshness.

But there are a lot of things that are otherwise my natural inclination, I often
override for my own sake. That's to say, my method of handling ludicrous
offers has been more of a learned practice, and not what I'd like to sometimes
do

The short answer is no.

It's like going into a physical retail store and asking for a discount.
It might work very occasionally, but you're more likely to get shown the
door and waste everyone's time.
