| Hi,
as a first timer I thought I'd give it a try and I ordered a lego part to
a local seller;
I received an email of confirmation, but since then, nothing
Usually one gets mail like "your order is getting prepared"", "getting
shipped"...
I contacted the seller, nothing
I donit know what to think, maybe it's the holiday, so
what can I do about this situation apart from waiting ?

Hello,
When did you place your order ?
Was it a big order ?
Is the store in European Union ?
Have you read terms of the store, it could be on vacation...

You are in Belgium, I know, I saw it. But I couldn't know you placed your
order in the same country 
Be patient, it could take a few days more.
Your message to the seller was sent by the Bricklink messaging or with the seller's
email in your order ? By Bricklink, you can see if the email has been read or
not, but sometimes emails are redirected to the seller's external email.

Hi Phil,
Always read the stores Feedback and in your case you know more.
I'm guessing it will take longer than normal.
If in Hurry just order it elsewhere.
