As some of you have noticed, we've being having a bit of an issue with Forum
spam recently. Our faithful Discussions Moderators have been doing a great job,
though, and if you have hidden canceled messages in your Forum preferences, you
may have missed most of the posts:

For those who like spam and missed tonight's episode, here is a quick summary:
Important message: BUY GBL (gamma-butyrolactone)
For those of you following the spam cycle, this is nothing out of the ordinary.
However, something rather special happened tonight. We linked the spammer to
another BrickLink account, perhaps an "alter-ego" as it were:

We do have a serious plan to address the spam issue and we will be acting on
it very soon.

A filter for gummies, pizza and mustard?
If I was planning on using an account to be naughty, I think I'd try and
hide it a bit and call it MrNice and not MrEvil.

| On the subject of forum spam since much of it occurs in the form of so called
"SALES" it would be really good if we could somehow legitimize all the
true sales by implementing a system where sellers can only apply a sales discount
to items in their store when the price of their items has remained unchanged
for at least 3 months!
In theory if someone claims to have a sale in the forum anyone checking that
store and finding no green discount tags against their items should then have
their sales post cancelled on the basis of it not being a legitimate sale and
therefore essentially spam!

like a spammer, so I stopped sending the reports.
