Short and simple question. I have one of these from my dads collection I'm
selling (he passed). Some guy I sold sets to before is super eager. Too eager.
So I'm trying to find the value but can't find anything. Not a single
set on Ebay or Bricklink. I have figured out they are extremely rare. Having
said that, if you know the parts list you can easily re-create it from parts,
no?

Hi,

I’m sorry for your loss.
Regarding the lego set the part out value is between €73,21 and €87,70.
So 50-60 bucks would be a reasonable price in my opinion.

Kind regards,

Arne

That’s only if your buying the part. If it’s a sealed set and super rare it’s
liked many many time that similar to the brickecconomy one that was posted

Yes, that is true. But almost every set 20+ years old costs a lot of money.
But I don’t think his set is new, otherwise you are right.

Oh true I guess for some reason I had though it was mentioned it was but after
a quick look I guess it isn’t

Look at set 8858 for comparison.

Might offer some insight.

It makes a big difference if it's new or used. Either way, the hoses are
what's valuable here. I've sold several around $10 a piece in used condition
and there are 6 here.

So if the set is used and complete, around $70 - $100 would seem a good price.
If it's new (sealed), it could be worth 2 or 3 times that much.

The condition of the rubber hoses in the set would be important. If they have
been properly stored they should show little or no degradation.

If you are unsure as to whether the rubber has degraded please post photos of
them. Regular members on the forums will be able to assess the condition of the
rubber hoses.

The condition of the rubber hoses can make or break a set's value, if in
poor condition or badly degraded, resale value will be significantly lower.

Hopefully your dad stored them so they would be in good condition or better.

Cheers ...
