| Hello,
So I just parted out some sealed copies of this set
and all the tires where sticky, so I put them aside for the time being.
This is the first time Ive parted something old with rubber parts in it, so I
wanted to ask if this is common for old rubber. (they had been sitting inside
a trailer on a hot +40ºc (100ºf) reaching and humid coastal city for context
for the last 20+ years).
Also, is there a way to fix it to be able to sell it at least as used condition?

Extremely common. It is the degradation of the rubber. What you are seeing is
the diffusion of the oily plasticizers in the rubber rising to the surface of
the part.

Warm soapy water will remove the surface layer of plasticizers. The layer will
come back over time though as more of the oily plasticizers rise to the surface
of the parts.
Cheers,
Randy
