Please move item (6255) from the Set category to the Book category, since modern
books that include Minifigs are still classified as books. Proper categorisation
is as follows: "Book - Comic Book - Pirates - Pirates I".

Set No: 6255 Name: Pirate Comic Adventure Set
*
6255-1 (Inv) Pirate Comic Adventure Set
4 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1 Book, 1989
Sets: Pirates: Pirates I

Unlike modern books that include minifigures, this is not a "book" that
includes a minifigure. It is a set that includes a book. This will not be changed.

How so? I am genuinely confused, since the main product here is the comic, while
the Minifigs and accessories are an added bonus. Also, if this is a set, why
is the name "Pirate Comic"?

It was given a set number by the LEGO Group. That is why it is a set. Modern
books are not given set numbers, and they are published by other companies. I
don't know if the set has an official name, so the name "Pirate Comic"
(or "Pirates Comic" depending on where you look) is what is used.

Cheers,
Randy

Odd criteria, and I disagree with the decision, but at least there is a legitimate
rationale behind the categorisation.

You are fine to disagree, but every LEGO database that I looked at categorized
it in the exact same way. We could all be wrong, but I don't think so.

To be fair, that could just be because that is how we classify it; Brickset,
for instance, uses all of our names and classifications for Minifigs. BrickLink
is one of the original LEGO databases, and by far the most definitive, so it
makes sense that others would just defer to our Catalog.

Peeron predates BrickLink and classifies it the same. BrickLink built upon Peeron,
so it is not a surprise to see it the same here. Brickset has its own classifications
for sets and do not follow BrickLink. Minifigures on Brickset are classified
and named according to our database because we have a special agreement with
Brickset that allows them to use our minifigure catalog.

Ah, OK. I did not realise that Brickset needed a special agreement to use the
BrickLink Catalog as a resource.

The comic is inside of a box that is in a set. Hence the reasoning why they added
it this way. You can't just buy the comic separately, you had to first open
a box, which is a set, that contains the comic within it. Do you get it now?

When this was first inventoried, this determined whether it was a set or a
box, because of what item contained the other item. It's like a list of items.
First item in the list is the box, then the items inside the box come next, and
so on.

Cheers ...
