Not sure if we can request these things as I don't see any way to do it,
but it would be very helpful to be able to for those of us that use Brickstore
for inventory.

The Fabuland tree, fabea1 has a corresponding Ldraw official item: u9213.dat

Is it possible to add this kind of thing as I see it on more popular items like
the 3003 2x2 brick.

What do you mean 'add this sort of thing'? Add as an alternate item number?

If so then firstly I don't think this is a route we would take unless the
site saw a need.

Secondly does BrickStore even pick up on alternate item numbers when searching
for items? I never found a way.

Or if I missed your point please elaborate further.

Thanks
Paul.

I’d say add as 3D model?  (like the title says )

Apparently, BrickStore can use them too.

I don’t know if that will affect the catalogue but I’ll inform the Studio team
about the link.

Yeah, that is what I meant, sorry for any confusion.
Just seems to me that it'd be helpful to have a nicer adding experience for
sellers wanting to list their inventory who are perhaps unsure about similar
parts and need a 3d model to look around (especially with similar mold variations
that aren't immediately discernible though on-site images) and for buyers
wanting to see what a piece might look like.

Not intending to step on anyone's toes here, just throwing the idea out there
since the resources are already there and being used to a limited degree

Hello Roy,

You can open an Issue in the BrickStore development site here:

Beware with that: LDraw parts aren’t always accurate.

There’s also cases where LDraw doesn’t differentiate while BL does (for instance
3001/3001old).

And there’s also cases where BL groups multiple variants under one entry (for
instance 6191): obviously, there can be only one variant shown in the 3D model.

I think they are referring to the 3D viewer in BrickStore. Not sure if that is
the same as the 3D viewer in BrickLink: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3003&tab=V
