So, I have a few of these light up bricks that won't light up. Bought some
new batteries, but they still won't light up. I had a good one on hand the
does light up so I opened it up to see if there was something special about the
brick, now it won't light up.
Is there a special procedure to replace these batteries? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, for looking

The electronic is a sham. It’s actually a fairy that makes the light and you
let it escape!
More seriously, I’ve one that’s dead too but I haven’t opened it yet….

So, I opened it and went looking for batteries yesterday:
€3.60 for a blister of one.
Or €4.60 for a blister of ten (shipping included).
Or buy a brand new part for around €1.50 here.
*sigh* Wasteful.

Ensure that the polarity of the battery is correct.

^^This... I have replaced many of these batteries over the years; I can try to
remember to check when I get off work today, but I believe the two batteries
each need to be facing the same direction to ensure it will light up properly
(also make sure there isn't anything in the slot on the bottom of the brick--it
originally comes with a thin plastic item to preserve the batteries when it's
not being used)... also ensure you have a battery tester to make sure you aren't
adding a dead battery to it when you replace them (even the batteries you buy
them in packs brand new, some may actually be dead; I've found about 25%
of these little buggers come dead right out of a brand new pack of 25-50)...

| Figured it out by looking into the brick with no battery, where is says which
side to put the positive. Got it to work now. Feeling pretty stupid lol.
