I just built

Set No: 40580 Name: Blacktron Cruiser
*
40580-1 (Inv) Blacktron Cruiser
343 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2023
Sets: Space: Blacktron I
and the direction of some of the stickers confuses me. Did the set designer(s)
make a mistake?
Historically, I thought the wide part of the triangle was the top of the logo,
as seen here:

Part No: 2408p02  Name: Panel 10 x 6 x 11 with Blacktron I Logo Pattern
*
2408p02 Panel 10 x 6 x 11 with Blacktron I Logo Pattern
Parts: Panel, Decorated {Black}

Part No: 11260pb02 Name: Minifigure Armor Space with Square Shoulder Protection with Blacktron I Logo and Silver Grille and Markings Pattern
*
11260pb02 Minifigure Armor Space with Square Shoulder Protection with Blacktron I Logo and Silver Grille and Markings Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Black}

In 40580, though, only one of the logo stickers really makes sense to me, and
that's the one on the nose. When viewed from the front, the triangle would
appear to point down, which matches the older logos. The ones on the fold-out
side panels and the one on the slope on the back of the ship all point in the
same direction, which kind of makes sense when you view the ship as a whole,
but to me they seem wrong individually.

The one that really makes me question the designers, though, is the sticker on
the

Part No: 4346  Name: Container, Box 2 x 2 x 2 Door with Slot
*
4346 Container, Box 2 x 2 x 2 Door with Slot
Parts: Container {Black}
which has the triangle pointing UP according to the instructions and box art.

I'm going to put the stickers on my pieces the way that makes sense to me,
but I was just curious if anyone else thought the designers had made a mistake.

I'm inclined to think that it was a mistake, because the sets from 1987 do
have the triangle pointing down. Having the triangle pointing up would probably
cause people to mistakenly think that the set is from Nintendo's 'The
Legend of Zelda', as that is exactly how the 'Triforce' symbol appears
in the video games. I think you would be doing the right thing by placing the
stickers so that the triangle is pointing down instead of up.

I put the sticker on the crate as per instructions and then put the crate into
the ship's cargo bay upside down, thereby satisfying my instruction OCD while
not having the upside down logo cause my head to explode. It fits so well upside
down that that may have been the intent,,.but I doubt it.
