| I just placed orders from a few different stores for a set of pieces on my wanted
list. However, despite double-checking everything pre-purchase, after I paid
through paypal and updated my wanted lists, I saw that I had bought only one
of a piece that I need a few of.
Is there any way I can edit my order, or do I have to cancel it and start again?
I don't want to pay 5-15 dollars extra in shipping for only a few extra pieces
that won't even add up to 1 dollar. What can I do?
Thank you!

If this happened recently, contact your seller right away, and see if have them
so you can add them to your order. They will likely need to edit the order, then
you will be given a chance to approve that change.

Yes, you can: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=62
|
You can add to the order, as long as the status isn't paid, packed, or shipped.
You can't really edit orders (with some exceptions).

With instant checkout and payment it's not possible to add to an existing
order.
Contact the sellers fron which store you want to add.
They can refund your payment and change the order status from paid.
Then you should be able to add to the order.

If the parts aren't even worth a dollar, then the seller might actually be
losing money refunding the PayPal payment then taking another payment for the
order again.

What I do in these cases is just ask the user to submit a new order, choose request
for invoice, then I invoice with shipping set to zero.

| You still lose money this way. The 10 cents part is less than the 30 cents minimum
PayPal fee. I haven’t tried this out though. Does PayPal bill you for a payment
less than their base? You definitely aren’t getting more money.

Isn’t there a microtransactions option on PayPal?

Last time I checked into this it was that you had an account set up as a micro
or regular, not both. the per trans fee was less for micro but the % was higher.
A micro account would save on fees for payments received up to $11.75 (ish) USD.

I thought some people managed to have both… but then that would mean PayPal is
not maximizing its profits (ha!).

I do have a micro and regular account (need different email for each) and used
to alternate between them if the payment was under the $11.75. But now since
postage is much higher and I implemented a minimum order I do not have payments
under the $11.75.

Only if you sign up for it and approve you. The downside is that the higher rates
they charge for those (but lower fixed fee) then applies to all payments received.
Great for someone that consistently has low orders, but not if you have larger
ones too.

You can have both here at Bricklink, also in PayPal USA there is trial of a new
combined account that charges you whatever of the both fees is the lower.

Yeah, but then that is two separate PayPal accounts. Interesting that they are
trialing the duo-combined account. I never really understood why they didn't
do that years ago, although I imagine it is because they get more money by restricting
you to one type or the other. At one stage (at least in the UK) you could actually
accept both types of payment into one account, but the payment type was coded
into the payment. It wasn't the cheapest of the two, you had to work out
which one to use - which isn't very hard of course, but had to have a checkout
process that could manage two types of payment (which BL does now, as do many
other online carts).

They bill you the amount paid if less than the fixed fee. So if you accept a
10c payment, the fee is 10c.
