Reason: Temporary hold for info - please contact Admin

Here it's just Forum and users

Reasons could be:
* accepting PayPal Friends/family,
* abnormal fees (like to avoid part of BrickLink fees),
* abnormal quantity of more or less rare items,
* cases where taxes could be avoided,
* feedback extortion,
* multiple accounts,
* strange lots listing, like incomplete Minifigs, new described as not, etc.

And so much...

Good luck!

That's very possible, I must admit.
But here is the Forum (only).

It says: please contact Admin

Open a ticket?

HTH.

The reason for closing my store is some one complaining about the qty of figures
that I have. This has happened to me last year during July and I hate it when
this happens. I can understand if my feedback was bad or if I was doing something
wrong but for having more qty you cannot just close the store. How much is too
much and would you be willing to reveal your sources if your store was closed.

Indeed.  Average response time is now 27h or about same day during the week,
but week-end problems weigh down the stats.  Oops, it’s already Saturday here
and about 4 pm in California

I would like to know how you ended up with well over 9000 Muppet Collectible
Minifigs, of all 12 varieties.

That was just a rough guess, but that's well over 250 boxes worth of that
set of figs in a box of 36 each.

If you are willing to reveal your sources, I might find it believable.

That's a lot of money to spend on just getting those boxes, and since you
seem to be a prolific collector, you have collected far more than that, quite
obviously.

People ask questions when they're not sure how large quantities of items
are acquired, it's simply a reality check, to ensure someone isn't doing
anything highly illegal.

If you aren't worried about revealing your sources, please, do tell us how
you acquired all of this stock of LEGO sets and elements for your store.

Cheers ...

Maybe their way of dealing with it is opening a new factory in the USA

perhaps. maybe they want to move out of Mexico due to just how violent it is
there right now and so they don't want to spend any time or money to resolve
it there and just instead move production somewhere else where it's more
secure

for example - a handful of sellers with 10+ of them, and no
other "key" parts from the UCS Razor Crest set (like the printed window
parts for the cockpit, which only come in that set as well) - how is it logical
to spend $8,000+ on 10 UCS Razor Crests just to sell 10 Mandalorian minfigures
for ~$50 each? Isn't the point of running a business to profit? Even if they
get them from Lego at a bulk discount, why are they only selling the minifigures
from the set?

Have you considered at least some of these sellers bought them from other sellers?

there is also that. some people may be selling the (presumably) stolen merchandise
without any knowledge. so would they be punished also? that's why it seems
like there is only 1 solution like I mentioned in my other response

but then that raises the difficult question. how exactly would you confirm they
are fraudulent like was said last time this was in the forums many sellers might
first list just the figures long before they part out the set. I've done
that myself before so if bricklink did something based of that it would cause
issues. for things like this the only real solution would be to prevent the real
(presumably) stolen figures from being made in the first place rather then without
full proof punishing those who may be inoccent

If this sort of thing concerns you, it may be prudent to hold back listing full
quantities of certain items. Only show a small quantity in your shop and have
the rest in reserve or in separate stockroom lots or whatever.

I am only a small shop, but even I do this with various rare or expensive items
that I happen to have legitimate bigger quantities. I don't do it for worries
of this kind, but to make it possible to raise my prices (as appropriate) as
each shown quantity sells out. I don't see the point in letting some reseller
buy me out and try to sell for higher prices when I can do that myself. I have
gotten burned by that enough times.

the admins are not malicious but when a seller doesn't deal with hundreds
(or thousands) of a particular figure its a benefit to only have 1 for sale at
a time so when it sells they can see the current market is and price the next
one accordingly

You are correct that fear of malicious accusations should not exist, from admins
or other BL users. Even for newly established sellers, and definitely not for
long-established sellers who may have years of otherwise trouble-free selling
activity.

Unusual or atypical legitimate acquisitions of LEGO items has happened for decades.
Most of those acquisition channels are never discussed or shared in public,
and some may even be tied to LEGO® Legal Non-Disclosure Agreements. Some people
have better access to Lego products than the general public. It may not be fair,
but that's the way it is.

BL should only be concerned with fraud that occurs between sellers and buyers
or buyers with fraudulent payments (and even most of that is the duty of the
payment processors). Rooting out potentially fraudulent acquisitions of Lego
products should not be the job of BL Admins or BL Users. Whose job that is I
don't know, but my guess would be the LEGO® Group themselves as they are
the gatekeepers of their own products. If they cannot keep stuff from leaking
out of their own facilities, that is their problem. TFB

user.

So msrp for 16.5 million is 10 cents a part. So only 1.6 million, if you have
a discount of some sort it would be less, a company can easily come up with 200k
USD. That is current inventory, not what has sold and if you are getting prices
that good you should only be buying through your retail channels. You should
be able to call up your regional lego salesperson, show your invoices and have
this cleared up in no time.

I agree with you, this conspiracy of stolen figures if proven or admitted by
the company should be controlled by the company and it is not for anyone to accuse,
judge or punish sellers behind their backs. I know how hard and how many years
have gone by to develop this store and I will go to any extent to defend my store.
Do not accuse, then judge and then punish without knowing the truth.

I know and can prove the source of every part or figure in my store and have
done this twice when the team audited me and I am still here selling on Bricklink.

Bommi Reddy

first list just the figures long before they part out the set. I've done
that myself before so if bricklink did something based of that it would cause
issues. for things like this the only real solution would be to prevent the real
(presumably) stolen figures from being made in the first place rather then without
full proof punishing those who may be inoccent

I don't deal with minifigures but I would imagine that it's not out of
the realm of possibility to legally acquire large quantities of minifigures for
resale. Lego is a hot commodity these days and minifigures especially so. Cockpits
not so much. Just yesterday there were people in the forum talking about how
profitable minifigures are: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1407597

So, there is definitely money to be made. Remember that these are not private
collectors but rather businesses making a profit. They have capital to invest.

Of course, there is always the possibility that there is a bad actor somewhere
in the supply chain, but it is hard to verify that with certainty. It is not
unreasonable for BrickLink to request extra documentation from large sellers,
but just looking at public listings for sale hardly counts as evidence of fraud.

As far as where they get there stock from, there are many ways besides buying
sets at retail. The details may be kept private in order to preserve competition.

In any case, the store's selling privileges have been reinstated.

Some figures you can get from lego directly but for licensed ones I don’t think
Lego can even legally sell individually since Star Wars figures are copyrighted
and hasbro dosnt like it when lego sells individual figures. Also for lego these
are a key selling point to them selling sets and for them to sell cheaply to
other sellers so the other sellers can make money wouldn’t make sense

If you are willing to reveal your sources, I might find it believable.

People who can (genuinely!) be surprised don't realize some sellers can aquire
$100 000 of one single set (like you and me go to Walmart to buy a box in sale)
- and some have XX $Millions of stock.

That's a lot of money to spend on just getting those boxes, and since you
seem to be a prolific collector, you have collected far more than that, quite
obviously.

Collector? This is a business.

If you aren't worried about revealing your sources, please, do tell us how
you acquired all of this stock of LEGO sets and elements for your store.

I guess you can make money when you have some at the beginning.
That's the only "secret" which isn't in fact - see Elon

Of course I'm not talking about IP violations, copies, fakes, whatever...
but it's (IMHO) more often the Occam's solution: they simply can afford
this.

Yup, a buddy of mine that got me in to this has pivoted and now somehow gets
10,000 a piece of certain sets for pennies on the dollar that he then sells through
various online stores like Walmart.

We respect each other's secrets so I don't ask how he's doing it
and he doesn't ask where I'm getting all my sets for 80% off.

I only know because we had one in Philadelphia that closed about 30 years ago.
My aunt worked there and was offered a job in France when they closed.

Wow, didn't know they were there... I'll have a look on Wikipedia then,
it's interesting.
Thanks!

I would like to know how you ended up with well over 9000 Muppet Collectible

That was just a rough guess, but that's well over 250 boxes worth of that

I agree, but at the same time OP literally said they'll tell people whatever
they want to know

Where did OP say this?

Also, posting about it on the forum makes it everyone else's business

No it does not, not to the level ghyde was delving.

If someone got up into my business like that, I would recommend they take a long
walk on a short pier.

Some businesses have capital to invest, so they invest it in what will make a
profit. I do not see anything conspiratorial in what you rant about. Methinks
you may be a little jealous, on the other hand "Thou doth protest too much."

I do not understand why anyone think that this is difficult or a big secret.
If your company is buying directly from LEGO as a retailer, it is just to order
the quantity you want. Personally I know shops who get 200 boxes of every new
minifig series. My company get 10 boxes of each; I can just ask them to change
that to 100 or 1000 any time (though they would ask if I really meant it if I
ask for 1000)

The real problem with that kind of purchases is storage space and capital.

I have proven it to the Bricklink Team showing my sources and my bank statements,
if you want to buy, I will get you some with some commission of course. My sources
are legit and that is why I am still operating the store. I asked this question
last time too when this happened, do you think I am that dumb to do some illegal
stuff with lego and come and try to sell it in Bricklink which is owned by LEGO.
Secondly I have helped a lot of Bricklink stores who contacted me. So if you
need help contact me and I will help you, all for the love of LEGO.

I am frustrated because people complain and talk without knowing anything about
me or my business model and I especially hate the youtubers when they do these
conspiracy theories just to make content.

Anyhow may the force and peace be upon you.
