Apologies in advance to non-US sellers but just wanted to share my recent learning
as I am a new seller on BrickLink. When setting up my store, I was following
the general guidelines and how others were charging. When I recently went to
send a package that was 15.7 oz, I was informed that my only option to send that
package was via Priority Mail.

I don't know when USPS changed their pricing structure, but if you go to
USPS website, https://www.usps.com/ship/first-class-mail.htm, it distinctly says

"for large First-Class Mail envelopes and parcels, the maximum weight is
13 oz."

Just thought I'd share so you don't have a similar price shock where
you end up paying more for shipping than anticipated.

True, the USPS site says 13 ounces is the max for a 1st class package, but if
you ship via PayPal's Shipstation you can go up to 16 ounces.

Retail USPS First Class: 13oz
Commercial Rate USPS First Class: 16oz

Purchase your shipping labels from Shipstation or Pirateship.

13 oz is the max at the retail counter. You can do up to (but not including)
16 oz if you buy commercial postage, e.g. through Pirate Ship - which you should,
you will save a significant amount of money. If need be you can get a cheap postal
scale so you can weigh your packages yourself, or even use a kitchen scale if
you already have one.

Thank you all for the great advice! Will look into getting commercial rate shipping.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up going with PirateShip as I don't have
the volume and am still getting my bearings on being a seller. So appreciative
of the everyone's great advice. It is so nice to not have such high shipping
costs and pass it on to the buyers.
