| The new Ninjago 2023 season has been confirmed by the writers to actually be
a new series, so we need a new Category for it, and the existing entries need
to be adjusted for clarity going forward.
Please create Categories "Ninjago: Dragons Rising" and "Ninjago:
Masters of Spinjitzu".
The new Category structure should be as follows:
- For all seasons prior to NDR (as well as Legacy), "Ninjago - Ninjago:
Masters of Spinjitzu - Season Title (e.g. Rise of the Snakes)".
- For TLNM, "Ninjago - The LEGO Ninjago Movie".
- For Core (as it is not fully canon, despite some vehicle and suit appearances
in canon material), "Ninjago - Core".

Do you have any idea how long it would take to recategorize approximately 500
sets, 820 minifigures, and an unknown number of book and gear items that probably
reaches into the thousands?
I think it is pretty safe to say that we will not be doing this.
We will figure out what to do when it comes time.

I would absolutely do the work of recategorising!
Additionally, each season has a rough average of 40 Minifigs and 40 sets each;
taking five minutes to recategorise a single entry (which is an absurdly high
estimate) would mean that each season could be recategorised in two days by working
in three-hour blocks each day. With around twenty seasons/themes, I could have
everything done easily in two months (just working on my own, with no help from
Catmins or other members).

A new trailer for Dragons Rising has released, and the show seems quite different
from Masters of Spinjitzu (definitely enough to warrant a new Category for it
and MoS). Additionally, one of the writers confirmed that the first season of
DR will not have a name, so just a new Dragons Rising sub-category will get confusing
and muddled very quickly!

Perhaps Ninjago can stay the same and just add a "Ninjago: Dragons Rising"
category that isn't a sub-category.
Or the subcategories could be changed to format "Season 2 - "Whatever""
so that there can be two seasons named Dragons Rising.

Perhaps Ninjago can stay the same and just add a "Ninjago: Dragons Rising" category that isn't a sub-category.

That is what I proposed; the existing entries get recategorised as "Ninjago
- Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu - Season title", while the new ones are "Ninjago
- Ninjago: Dragons Rising".
I want all Ninjago entries to be searchable under the "Ninjago" category,
but I also want to be able to search by show; just leaving "Ninjago"
as-is would prevent people from being able to browse just the MoS entries.

next instalment in the original Ninjago series; Dragons Rising, conversely, is
a new series and soft reboot of the franchise (sort of like the various universe-changing
events in DC and Marvel comics (e.g. Crisis on Infinite Earths)).
Dragons Rising should be its own category (“Ninjago - Ninjago: Dragons Rising”),
with Season 1 being a subcategory added later, if the seasons do not have titles.
Dragons Rising (per official information released by LEGO) has a multi-year plan
and is going to be a continuous story, so it will be here for the foreseeable
future (and seasons may not be the best way to divide sets/Minifigs, depending
upon how the story progresses and whether the Ninja get new costumes each wave).

Eh... The production numbers rebooted, and SotFS was definitely a soft-reboot
of sorts... but so was SoG so idk.
I would split Legacy into its own category, it's its own subtheme.

According to Doc Wyatt, LEGO does not even use season numbers internally (referring
to seasons as 1HY/2HY), and the productions numbers reset simply because the
studio changed. SoG and SotFS saw changes to animation design/production/tone/etc,
but they were very much still part of the same show overall.
