Hi all,

I was checking the prices in one of my MOCs and saw the prices for these parts:

Part No: 24299 Name: Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Left
*
24299 Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Left
Parts: Wedge, Plate {Dark Green}

Part No: 24307 Name: Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Right
*
24307 Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Right
Parts: Wedge, Plate {Dark Green}

Ratio is above 33:1!

Okay, they are rather rare (1+1 in one brickhead and 0+2 in another)… well, I
guess Sally gets parted out way more often than Bobba

Anyway, there’s 5 of each in the MOC.  The 24299s alone double the total price.

I don’t (and didn’t) intend to build it.  It’s just something I made following
a series of MOCs.  But, phew! that was a surprise!

Agree, the left ones of those are far too expensive

Part No: 30503 Name: Wedge, Plate 4 x 4 Cut Corner
*
30503 Wedge, Plate 4 x 4 Cut Corner
Parts: Wedge, Plate {Green}

Something's not right here.

It's possible that one of these was found in bulk/available through PAB.

Oopsies, silly me, I didn’t consider Charles Dickens, I just counted

Set No: 41630 Name: Jack Skellington & Sally
*
41630-1 (Inv) Jack Skellington & Sally
193 Parts, 2018
Sets: BrickHeadz: Disney: The Nightmare Before Christmas

Set No: 41498 Name: Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite - New York Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive
*
41498-1 (Inv) Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite - New York Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive
329 Parts, 2017
Sets: BrickHeadz: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
in my “1+1 vs. 0+2.”

So that’s more “1+1 x 0.00001” vs “0+2 + 0+4”.

So the availability ratio is more about 0.0001:6.  No mystery that the price
ratio is 33:1 then

Still, why isn’t there a rule at LEGO to balance left+right pairs in sets, at
least per year?

IOW, we go back the eternal question: Why LEGO doesn’t make the parts _I_
want?

Yeah it was really confusing when I was working on the inventory but I never
built the set so I didn't worry to much

The more I read about you, the more I think you never worried about anything.

Lucky you, but keep on

although the support guy said that we should turn the water to it off (after
the whole houses water was off) by turning the blue knob and not the red one.
however we only had 2 red ones but it seems to be fixed. although the 3rd red
one is for the natural gas heating but we didn't turn it off since it seems
to be fine? I hope? maybe I should get business insurance quickly

For a production PC

Rule n°1: have an UPS

Rule n°2: never sit the PC directly on the ground (flood, insects, pets...) -
and same for its power cables, plugs, UPS...

The water heater should be in a water heater pan with a drainage pipe leading
to the floor drain. That keeps any water that escapes the heater contained to
the base of the heater and sends it out to the drain. It keeps floors from getting
drenched with water and ruining flooring, baseboards, etc.

The water heater should be in a water heater pan with a drainage pipe leading
to the floor drain. That keeps any water that escapes the heater contained to
the base of the heater and sends it out to the drain. It keeps floors from getting
drenched with water and ruining flooring, baseboards, etc.

I guess ours doesn’t have that then

Yeah, that was the point of the message.

It would be good to look into getting one.

I’ll pass it on to my dad the since we do plan on buying one in the somewhat
near future since the one we have is somehow rented so they just replaced it

  IOW, we go back the eternal question: Why LEGO doesn’t make the parts _I_
want?

We're not all fond of Primo, sorry.

Sometimes when someone designs a military MOC and sells the instructions for
it (like Brickmania,) it might use a rare part which creates a run on that part.
I don't specifically know of any military MOC that uses that piece, but
I think it's very likely that a dark green wedge plate like that could be
used in a tank or something similar.

When you look at the prices on LEGO 3rd party military vehicle kits that include
both instructions and all the parts, it's possible that those could be our
culprit.

It’s from a rare set as opposed to the other one which is also from the rare
set but also in a common set
