Does anyone know of a bullet proof way to remove labels/stickers from lego boxes
without ripping the up the printed surface? The sharpest flat razors I have
can get under it without cutting up the box but I can never get more than half
an inch in before it begins to pull up the box.

We've used one in our LEGO business, for years now. Mostly to open sets in
a manner that allows us to repurpose the boxes, for shipping and resell. Works
well (if done right) on label removal too.

Awesome, thank you!

How about a regular hair dryer?

A regular hair dryer is better because it doesn't get so hot....

We started out using one, but discovered that the hair dryer doesn't work
nearly as well as the heat gun. More focused higher temps, making it more controllable
and quicker.

I know for a fact the one hair dryer we have in the house doesn't have enough
power. We used the high heat setting to try to dry out plaster of paris faster
and it was maybe 90º. I need a heat gun anyway for shrink wrapping.

Soak the labels in cigarette lighter fluid, labels just peel off, fluid evaporates
leaving no mark.

I saw that on Reddit as a suggestion, but nobody confirmed it worked. My only
reservation is if it could cause blistering.

Put a sticker on a box you don't need and give it a try

I've stopped trying to remove the labels and now just tape a small piece
of paper over them. All the info on that label is my address, which is already
known from the new label, and LEGO's address which is no secret.

If you are talking about a sealed Lego set that you bought from Amazon, make
sure to mark your next purchase as a gift and they will send it in a bag or a
box.

Ah, yes, I misinterpreted the OP to be referring to removing a shipping label
from a brown box, not a price label. Better to leave that than risk damaging
the art on the box.

Heat gun and run it over the whole label for a few minutes. Don't put it
too close or you will burn the label. Then gently take a razor blade and try
to pick up a corner until you can get the label to peel off. Any tougher areas
can be reheated with the heat gun for a moment or 2 . Do not recommend soaking
labels as they can ruin the box.
