I was wondering if any of you have ever had an issue with new member buyers trying
to scam you or anything like that. I haven’t had a problem with them so far
but there seem to be a lot of new members buying from my store. I don’t think
there’s any reason to worry but it’s also interesting that bricklink tells you
they’re new members if there hasn’t been a problem in the past.

New buyers often order and never pay, but other than that i've had no scammers,
so I would let them order from you.

Thanks, Noah

I’ve had that happen before it’s annoying but not worth banning a whole group,
thanks

Use instant checkout and the quote feature.
You can't ban a complete group.

Well, you therotically could by enabling the option requiring new users to use
IC then having no IC options. Horrible and terrible idea, but I have had that
option enabled before and had new users complain they couldn't check out
because they were trying to order something that didn't work with any of
my IC options.

Wouldn't it default to invoice only but still allow the order to be placed,
or are you suggesting removing that option (for all buyers) too?

And wouldn't it also stop established buyers using IC too and so possibly
put those buyers off.

Nope. If you have the option enabled that new users MUST use IC, it will never
give them the option for anything else. That's why I disabled that option;
I'd get new users wishing to purchase a newer item missing a weight, and
they couldn't go through IC because of it, but because of the enabled option,
they couldn't choose the Invoice Method either. So they'd get an error
along the lines of "this seller does not have any available shipping methods
for you.

And wouldn't it also stop established buyers using IC too and so possibly

Yep, that's one reason why it's a terrible idea.

Interesting, I assumed it would still allow it to default to invoice if no other
option was possible. I don't use it, since I don't mind new buyers. I
find that they are usually less hassle than some existing buyers that order then
take ages to pay even though they could have used instant checkout.

I once had an issue with a new buyer placing an order and not paying. But most
new buyers are great, in fact I welcome them to my store.

BrickLink isn’t warning you against newcommers.  BrickLink is telling you they
are new members who don’t know all of the quirks here, so there may be “problems”
that need a little more communication and leniency.

I love new members. People with
People with 1 or 0 feedback make up about 20-25%. Seven people so far this
month bought something from my store for the first time (see image and know that
a few of them have added more feedbacks already).

I'm honestly more worried about people with 1,000 feedbacks. They make
me nervous because I feel like the pressure is on to have everything perfect.

Probably most of my buyers are new as well. Recently had a new buyer buy a $125
set. He had zero bricklink feedback. I was hesitant to sell to him but he turned
out great. Sent me feedback that he was enjoying building the set he received.
Haven't had anyone try to scam me yet.

Never refused service to a new buyer, weren't we all new buyers in the beginning
