It is an externally hosted website that is included in an iframe.

Store Settings - Splash - Display Options - Externally host a page (Display
a page hosted by another site.).

I literally understood nothing, I know that is externally hosted page, but how
it is done, just copied lego store page and inserted it? If yes, how all of these
images links to something inside his store?
Imagine you need to describe to a guy who knows how to write a code which says
"Hello World!"

It’s not code, it’s HTML: https://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp
More specifically, links: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

Watch a tutorial on how to use a site builder like weebly and then make a simple
site and try hosting it to your splash page

Alright, so I need to create a website, which will look like I want and then

It's a job in itself.
You'll have to rent an maintain a server with your site, time and a cost.
Or a site builder with a subscription.

In short, it'll cost and take you a LOT of time.

As someone said, frankly, buyers don't care for Splash pages.

Personnaly I never watch a Splash page voluntarily; I either come to a shop by
a search, wanted-list or price guide.
If I have a look at some page, it's the feedback profile

Ah, and I thought you had time consuming studies?

Even if it's "free", it's never free.
You display ads or they use your data.
But you know that, don't you?

same as every other site then? so no major issue (or even minor issue
) just some extra free personalized ads and a slightly more updated dataset
on their end for my user profile across the internet

If you do pay for a service, then chances are this service is paid by your money;
they (normally) won't care much of your data.

If you don't pay, it still has the "same" cost. So they'll actively
collect everything they can and will sell them. This service has to be paid.

Exemple of one of their policy:

Certain web browsers allow you to instruct your browser to respond to Do Not
Track ("DNT" signals to website you visit, informing those sites that
you do not want your online activities to be tracked. At this time, our websites
are not designed to respond to DNT signals or similar mechanisms from browsers.

As said, they don't respect the DNT because it's one of the things that
pay their service.

Of course, you're young and you don't care - fair enough for that matter

I'm off, please respect my privacy

I mean they also have a paid subscription which is where they get lots
of money from but I guess privacy in that way has never been a big concern
for me

For him maybe, but it also goes for his visitors.  He’s paying the service with
his visitors’ data….

Apparently, he won’t

You will need permissions from BL to set up an external web page on your splash
page, else you are in violation of rule 10.5 of the ToS.

Linking: Link to pages outside of the Site. Users must not link from their Splash
Page, Terms & Conditions, Shipping Policy, About Me page or from their listings
of items for sale, to another site.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard of that. It specifically says on the splash page thing
“Enter the link for the external page below:” so it obviously fine with external
hosting and also myself and many other have hosted external splash pages for
ages and haven’t had any issues

Also reading that it says a link from your splash page to another site isn’t
allowed not you aren’t allowed to host a splash page externally

Thank you in advance!

Niek.

Also reading that it says a link from your splash page to another site isn’t
allowed not you aren’t allowed to host a splash page externally

I am just quoting the ToS which we all agreed on. If an external page is allowed
without any permission, BL should make this more clear.

It sounds from your interpretation that a hosted splash page becomes "the
splash page" - so what would the phrase "users must not link from their
splash page ... to another site" mean? No links to pages outside the splash
page site?

Or: no links to pages outside BL = your splash page must link to BL only, even
when hosted elsewhere (except maybe images?).

Complicated.  Happy not to be a seller

That would mean no links to CSS file(s) (and - haven't tried this - JavaScript...)
either, so only inline CSS allowed.

Or don't do it externally, you can do enough on the locally hosted page.

Or better yet, just forget about the splash page. The only info that really matters
to a customer should be in the shop terms.

Not all of this!

You have to NOT show links (or images, buttons...) that links (open tab or window)
to outside BrickLink.

Otherwise you can have an external page, css, js, fonts - whatever.

When I first read it I took it as “if you’ve got a store on a different site
like the site that rhymes with mebay or tick-towel, the you aren’t allowed to
link the, to your splash.”

I myself have a random site linked to my splash page, and nobody has said anything
against it

This is a common excuse that never flies. There are sellers (still) that put
up incomplete minifigs for sale. "Nobody has said anything, so it is OK".
It is like saying "oh, I always run this red light, and nobody has said anything
yet, so it is OK".

Not saying an external splash page is like running a red light, I'm saying
that "haven't been caught yet" is not the same as "therefore
it is allowed".

Also not saying that an external splash page is not allowed - it apparently is
(as is somewhat evident by the option being available on the management page).

All I am saying is that to me there is a contradiction with the ToS. It either
needs an adjustment, or some clarification from our overlord.

I'm sorry, I can't be any clearer than this.

Don't bother with a splash page. Just do something simple and easy to read
on your terms pages. Splash pages were basically made obsolete several years
ago.
