| Hello! I'm ready to buy a thermal printer to print my USPS labels. I'm
just looking for recommendations not based on price as much as quality of print,
ease of use and compatibility with ShipStation/PayPal.
Thanks in advance!

I've never attempted to use a Dymo printer with off-brand labels, but the
brand name ones fairly inexpensive.

I am seeing a lot of people recommending Dymo and that the only draw back is
the proprietary labels; I do not believe there is a workaround for that.

There is, the best: Zebra!
They can last 20 years - we've a few gk420d
https://www.zebra.com/us/en/products/printers/desktop.html?page=1
Target Z200 or Z400, expensive, maybe $200/300 but work with ANY roll of paper.
We buy them by 10 or 50, ex:
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B084KTSGXV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
Price: $18 for 5000 (yes 5K) stickers 4" x 6"
The printer premium is very quickly refunded.
You'll thank me later

It's very fine for all prints, up to 300 dpi for the zd421
https://www.zebra.com/us/en/products/spec-sheets/printers/desktop/zd421-series.html
Sincerely we print barcodes and complicated labels for years.
It's expensive, it's goooood.
PS: I've nothing to do with them or gain here (of course), but I'd buy
Brother and Zebra eyes closed. Nothing else.
PPS: you may try craiglist or such, they're often sold when a business had
closed for 1/2 the price.

I’m still using it but yah sounds like a plan

It is! Always turned on, has a roll up to 500 * 4"x6" (you almost never
change the roll), starts to print instantly and maybe 1 second for a label, it's
nice

once a month

I used generic Dymo 4xl labels purchased off of Amazon for many years - they
are a fraction of the cost of "genuine" Dymo labels.
That being said, I transitioned to Zebra ZD420 printers...bluetooth, print over
LAN, WiFi...plus they are bulletproof (but expensive).
If you want a cheap 4x6 printer, Rollo is popular but there are many clones that
are exactly the same and 30% less expensive.
The collegepicker on YouTube has reviews of a few.

Watched a few videos! I can see that the Zebra is a clear winner overall based
on reviews, BUT overall I think some of the things the youtuber said really made
sense for my selling level. I LOVE how he actually mentioned the 'print
and tape method' which is what I'm currently using and as much as I love
to get a top of the line product I think I'm leaning towards the iDPRT (currently
139.99 less a $30 coupon) or the beeprt which is the one he uses in the video.
Both were on my radar from reviews I have read and will do the trick for me.
Thank you for your input!

I am still using ancient Zebra 2844. Got it over 15 years ago and aside from
driver issue when I switched from Windows XP to 7 and from a broken USB port
last year it has performed well.
It's built like a tank and doesn't use DRM like some of the newer label
printer might have.
