| And I had already had an AWFUL day at work, and I get the mail to see this….
I could only salvage 1x 2x4 white tile and 22x out of 35x dark bley 1x6 plates….
Nice….. thanks USPS.

| Looks like it’s gone through a sorting machine.

Now you’ve given me something else to fear when ordering rare parts. Losing them
is one thing, but this is just heartbreaking.

What should I do here? Of course there isn’t insurance with it since it shipped
first class, and I don’t want to be mean and ask the seller for a refund since
he’s been so good to me…

the seller is liable, don't forget insurance is for the seller not the buyer

Gees, it looks like they ran over the pieces with their truck and then stomped
on them until they stopped moving just to make sure they dead.
I would just write the store a nice message and send them a picture. There is
a good chance they will take care of you after seeing the picture. I know if
we received a message about damaged parts like that then we would offer to resend
all new parts (if we had them) or give a full refund. I am a firm believer that
it the sellers responsibility to make sure that orders arrive at the customers
address in good condition. If it is lost or damaged then I feel it is the store's
responsibility to make it right with the customer. As Nubs said, insurance is
for the seller not the buyer. The buyer pays for it, submits the claim and receives
the compensation.
Jim.

While it looks like the sorting machine did most of the damage, the fact that
the buyer didn't provide any extra padding for the parts is a problem. I
am assuming they were just put in the bubble mailer and hoped for the best. I
always use extra bubble wrap or extra padded mailers when shipping parts. The
rare exceptions are 1x1 round plates or the tiny slopes. I agree with another
poster that the buyer is liable for you getting the parts intact and in good
condition. as purchased. I think contacting the buyer and asking for a partial
refund would be reasonable, unless there was extra padding in the bubble mailer.
Just my opinion.

Honestly, I disagree, because USPS should be expected to be a lot more careful
with the packages we put in their “care”. A layer of bubble wrap SHOULD be enough
to get by a few mail carriers taking it around… just my opinion though lol

+1 I cant say ive received many bubble envelopes with more bubble wrap inside
or shipped many out that way. and I don't think 1 or 2 extra layers of bubble
wrap would have saved much lego

That’s crazy! I had a similar experience recently with the same kind of envelope.
Three mini figures were basically ground down.

a package like that in Canada

That looks like something made of rubber with a profile ran over it. The profile
looks to be to small for a forklift, but something mangled that envelope. Although
the seller is responsible for shipping, I would let the buyer know to contact
UPS and get that reimbursed.

| I had something similar happen. I had asked the seller to ship a part that probably
shouldn't have been shipped in a bubble mailer and that I would accept responsibility.
Arrived damaged, I didn't even mention it to the seller as it was not their
problem in this particular case.
Sure sucks though

many sellers use those crappy shipping bags.
