I noticed today while building

Set No: 7418 Name: Scorpion Palace
*
7418-1 (Inv) Scorpion Palace
337 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 26 Gear, 2003
Sets: Adventurers: Orient Expedition
The inventory lists 4 [P=71509,3]
The instructions only show the use of 1.
Should the remaining 3 be moved to extra parts?

Some sets around this time period counted all of the rubber bands in the official
part count and others did not. Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to figure
out whether all of the rubber bands should stay in the Regular Items section
or only the ones that are required of the build. We will need to look into this
one more to see if we can figure it out.

Cheers,
Randy

I opened one of these a few years ago and at that time you deleted the 3 extras
and added them to the main section.

And a few years before that, mauro changed the 4 in the regular section to 1
and added 3 extras!

Could there be 2 different variations of instructions?

Yes, sometimes. But that isn't the issue here. This is different ideas about
how the rubber bands should be handled in an inventory.

Just an idea, but box shows 358 pieces
- inventory (incl. 4 rubber bands): 337
- Minifigures: 20
- board game: 1

So I would say 4 as regular as the inventory is confirmed by sealed set contents.

Except that the game cards were packaged and counted as one part (4189436), the
board game pieces were packaged and counted as one part (4189443), and the die
was counted as one part.

Oh, and the minifigures were counted as 15 parts, since the torsos and heads
came together as one piece each.

So...

inventory: 337
minifigures: 15
game cards: 1
game board: 1
die: 1

equals 355. Still short of the box count by a few.
