| If it is in the position on the picture it is switched on. If the side slots
are not level on both parts it is switched off.
Does the propeller turn when your try it with your hand? It should turn very
easy. If not it probably had some water inside and will not function anymore.
Is the battery compartiment rusty and/or dirty? Also a tell I died long ago.

| Thanks for the info, the propeller does turn but I'd say does have 'some'
resistance and as the battery is good I think I call this a dud unit. Cheers

I have a working one. Battery is placed with positive end closest to propeller.
Screw the halves back together. When the bar/attached axle is at the top and
aligned with the battery picture the propeller starts turning. I can't turn
past that point because of the water seal ring on the threads. No switches.
When I first got it there was a string caught and cut off around the propeller,
It didn't turn at the time.
Also cleaning the battery connections with sand paper might help but would be
difficult.
Good luck

Lemon juice and a Q-tip work wonders to clean dirty and corroded battery contacts.
