Hi all 🙂 How many of you have ever been to Legoland, in any part of the world?
Could you post any pictures from there or if not, just say what kind of an experience
was it for you and was it only in summer time, how about did you spend night/nights
there or near Legoland?
Thanks for replies to any of my posts/comments.

Hi,

I went to LEGOLAND Billund in 2002, it was during my last summer camp.
I specify that I am French. During this holiday camp, we travelled a lot through
different countries: Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
A lot of beautiful landscapes...
It was by far my best trip, with a 1 day ticket in LEGOLAND Billund.
I play with LEGO bricks since I am 6 years old, so 10 years after, it's great
and i was still like a child !!
It was the beginning of Bionicle and I remember I came back with 3 Bionicle cans
(TOA Gali, Tahu & Kopaka).
The 1st picture is the LEGOLAND Billund door.
The 2nd picture is in LEGOLAND, Miniland section. This is Bergen (Norway) in
bricks

The 3rd picture is from my second (and last trip for the moment) in a LEGOLAND
Park, in Germany, Berlin Discovery Centre

Nicolas

It is so important to take lot of memories with cameras when you spend time with
the ones you love. To later see many different times and places that you had
spent together and where...

Yes it would be lovely, if one day you maybe could show 1 or a few photos of
Legoland in it´s earlier years

I went to see my aunt last week and i had so lovely time. I enjoy talking with
her. She shared me some things, like where she was born and other things...How
it was poor living in a big family...I also ate there the food she had made.
Got stomach full and also saw one of my cousins there little time before she
went to her home.

I fear every year that when it is the last time i see that aunt of mine. As she
has been like a mother to me in a way... I can not stand the thought of losing
her. Not long ago just was a day that my mom had passed...She has already been
many years "in the place of final destination for resting"...

Another great post!

LegoLand California was one of our go-to places, starting the year it opened.
We (my son, daughter and I) had season passes a few of the earlier years, which
we used regularly. Sometimes we’d drive down just to have lunch and hangout
for a couple of hours. It is, or at least was, a relaxed and beautiful campus
for having a meal outdoors. Of course the weather was nearly always pleasant
down in Carlsbad near the ocean.

Got to know some that worked there. Which was nice, especially one older Swedish
woman my kids really liked. They still at that point spoke Swedish better than
English, which the woman I felt appreciated speaking with them. I think she really
missed her kids/grandkids and enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed hers.
She would take them (us sometimes) back behind the scenes into the employee areas,
showing all kinds of fun stuff and just to hangout with the others. She ran that
section of the park that included injection molding exhibition.

I got to know the woman that ran retail sales in the park too. Which consisted
of three stores at the time; one "Big" as it was called and two smaller.
Occasionally bought the sets in bulk that she wasn’t moving well enough, or that
were being phased out. They weren't at the time contractually bound by TLG.
Actually think she viewed me as a kind of venue to do some inventory clean-up.
Didn’t know of BL at the time, so most of it went into two large storage units
I kept near our home.

Putting aside the business I did, all three of us still have very fond memories
of our days there. Isn’t that ultimately what it’s all about.

As to pics: Only ever used a digital camcorder of my kids and our adventures
over the years. Have some 80+ digital tapes with countless hours recorded. I
can't remember, but most likely have several hours of us at Legoland, California.
No pics to share here though, sadly.

Who knows, if I ever finally get these older digital tapes converted and uploaded
somewhere where I'm able to share them? I'd be fun for some here to see
Legoland California in it's earlier years.

Hi Mr popsicle
Thanks for your time to reply
Oh, those season passes is a great thing!
I put to Google that Carlsbad to see photos about it.

I bet your children felt very comfortable talking with the Swedish worker at
the Legoland and it must have been so nice to see the areas she showed you and
the injection molding exhibition too! Sounds so interesting!

I wish i had a machine to make special Legos I would put there views and animals
at least to the torsos of minifigures and lovely colours and... yeah...well
now need to just imagine it...

And thanks for the compliment about my post too

My family and I went to Legoland in California at the beginning of March 2019.
We loved every minute of it, we stayed in the Castle hotel and it was awesome,
great food, fun atmosphere and Lego everywhere.

My kids at the time we went were 7, 4 and 2. they had a blast. For the few day
we were there we were able to go on every ride many times and hit all the other
fun activities. The weather in California in March was great compared to what
it was in Southeastern Idaho at the time, it stayed around 70 degrees (fahreneit
) while we were there, compared to the 40 degree average at home. We chose
to go that time of year to avoid the spring break and summer crowds (and the
hot weather) and it really paid off. I wanted to take the kids to Disneyland
this coming spring or summer but with the rising prices I cant really convince
myself to do it so I think we will be heading back to Legoland in the next year
or so. If anyone has the chance to go I highly recommend it.

(sorry, not great pictures, but I have very few that dont have my kids in them)

I went to both Legoland California and Legoland Florida. I loved all the builds.
Both sites were geared for young children and I wished I had brought some. Legoland
Florida even though it was newer seemed old as the hot sun had faded the color
from some of the bricks and made the whites turn yellow. Some of the builds
looked like they tried to paint the Legos rather than rebuild the items. Ugh!
However, Florida had acquired the old Cypress Gardens which I had never seen
and so I enjoyed walking through the large trees.

I also went to Lego Adventureland in Chicago and Lego Adventureland in Columbus,
Ohio. I had to take children with me as they don't let adults in alone.
So I borrowed a friend's kids. We had a ball riding the rides and playing
the games. We watched all four of the 4-D movies and sat where we would get splashed
with water. What fun!

Good morning to Idaho Here our time now is 17.30... 9 hours later the time
that you have now.

And thanks a lot, it was lovely to see your photos too

Oh, i would love to spend a night at a hotel and especially Lego style like the
one you mentioned, Castle hotel ...The amount of time i would take for photos
and videos ... Haha, laughing at myself here now

The temperature of 70 Fahrenheit about 21.1 Celsius does not sound bad at all,
it sounds like so good, especially when it is like many kilometers of walking
Easier to be out when it is not too hot...

Have a nice day
