Curious if everyone does as I do.

When I need a part in a quantity of one or two I will often buy a bunch of extras
if the sellers inventory permits.

Obviously thinking the next time I need one I will have it. To date, that has
yet to happen.

Thoughts?

I typically buy all in the store. (depending if its a reasonable amount and price)

I put the rest in my store. I've yet to go back and get them! I know i've
sold several of them

I call myself a LEGO ACCUMULATOR. I keep accumulating Lego with the intention
of building cool stuff, but rarely do (mostly because I have gotten old and lazy).

As a buyer, I almost always buy out entire Lots when I am shopping. But I definitely
always over-buy. If I need 10 of something, I buy 20 or 40 or 60. I never shop
using a Wanted List, instead I have 3 or 4 pieces in mind that I am looking to
buy and then I look for other good parts.

My number one goal when buying is to NEVER pay to ship AIR. I want as much Lego
as I can get for my shipping dollars. I have been known to spend 20 minutes fiddling
around with my cart contents to get every last piece I can get before the shipping
price jumps to the next pricing tier; when in invoice-only shops, I maximize
the weight of the cart to get as much Lego as I can get before I hit the next
weight band (and still allow for packaging weight, too).

Imagine trying out my cool flat rate $7.50 shipping on all orders to the USA
feel free to add as much as you can that stays within the limits of it

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check out your shop. I only have a few
Canadian coins right now, tho. How much Lego can I get for $1.45?

You might have to wait in line a bit, tho. But, I can easily add you to my long
queue of shopping carts.

It's a good thing you do accept shiny American coins . . .

I'm rusty on my conversion rates . . . $1.45 CDN, is that about $0.50 USD?

Not even enough for a slice of Pizza!

Yep.  Need 4.  Think of buying 8 because, eh, maybe I’ll build two or another
similar thing.  Hesitate in front of the cart: “so 8 or round up to 10?”  Or
“eh, they have 11, I can’t leave 1 all by itself.”
Then I eventually validate the order.
And 5min after that I look at the MOC and find another idea which either means
I actually don’t need the part at all… or I now need 12 and bougth 10 (or 11)….

That’s why I take a long time between orders

So I'm fairly normal then.

Can't stop thinking about Nubs cornering the market on CP heads.

I don't think I ever need one or two of a part. If I use a part I tend to
need lots of them.

Guilty - lol. I don't generally buy the whole lot but if I need say 13 and
they have 15 or 20, I buy them, especially when it is a part that I will likely
need again.

Curious if everyone does as I do.

When I need a part in a quantity of one or two I will often buy a bunch of extras
if the sellers inventory permits.

Obviously thinking the next time I need one I will have it. To date, that has
yet to happen.

Thoughts?

Sometimes I do. If I need 2 of 2x2 black inverted slope and seller has 12 in
the store, I might buy all 12 just to clear a space on the seller's shelf.
I tended to do this with small stores, the big store often have too much for
me to just buy out (what would I do with 10,000 of that inverted slope?)

I'm still going through some 200 of

because I hit an extra zero
by accident. It was a big order so I didn't notice an extra $20 worth of
parts got slipped in until I got the package.

I blame this post for this purchase sometimes the price is too good to
pass
(I didn't even plan to buy any prior to 15 min ago)
