Here are the facts:
order placed January 8.
order paid via bank transfer January 8.

Order was marked 'Ready'

After 7 days of no action form the seller (status still 'ready' I asked
him if there was a problem with the order. No answer.

January 14 I started a OCR because the seller did not respond to my previous
message and I asked him to cancel.

January 18 still not a single line from the seller. I sent him a message that
he could either still ship the order, or cancel it. No response whatsoever.

So I'm left with an order that I have paid for and a seller that doesn't
respond.
Since I've contacted him a couple of times without response I feel it is
OK to name the name the seller and I warned him that I would do so if he didn't
respond to my complaint.

It's Brickiton and he has run into more problems, see his feedback https://store.bricklink.com/Royroy#/feedback

I was thinking the same. It does seem to me that the store auto-closed. This
is one of my personal fears about running my store. That an emergency would pop
up and then un-shipped orders, NSS and store closed forever.
I wonder, does Bricklink admin review cases like these to reopen closed stores?
I hope everyone involved here gets their orders sorted out, or refunded at least.

Mhm I’m pretty sure as long as it wasn’t just going on vacation for months on
end and leaving your store open like a certain store then you should be able
to refund all of the orders and gets nss removed and get back to operating. Depending
on how many orders you get you could be left with negative feedback but hopefully
the store could be open again

Happened to me about 5 years back. Got home from a LEGO convention, suddenly
developed Pneumonia in both lungs- went from being just what I thought was a
cold to largely incapacitated the next day. Didn't even have a chance to
message buyers or shut down. Was out of it for about a week, and in that time
developed enough NSSes to close my store in my absence. Thankfully, BL admins
were very understanding, and my store was reopened within a few days. Most buyers
were very understanding as well- one buyer with feedback in the thousands was
a right piece of work about it, but I guess there's always got to be one
of those...). Just checking now, he's been back to purchase from me several
times since then, so I guess he got over it!

For sellers who aren't aware of this setting:

Under Store Settings - Management, there is an option to Auto-close a store after
X days of not logging in, with a minimum of 3 days.

Indeed, this (medical emergency) is the case. Seller contacted me yesterday.
I can't share what he told me but I can confirm that severe medical problems
are the source of the current situation where orders are not being sent and communication
is not possible.

When you look into the feedback history of this seller you will see that it was
a good shop until a few weeks ago - I ordered from him twice before.

I removed my initial negative feedback and cancelled NSS / OCR etc.
If you also had negative experiences with this store I ask you to be patient
and wait and remove your negative feedback for the time being.

I hope the seller will get better soon and get it sorted out.
Wish him luck!

This happened to me a few years ago. It wasn't life-threatening, but I was
in the hospital for an unexpected visit for 5 days (dislocated and broken ankle
and broken foot from playing sports) which of course disallowed me to get around
to pull any type of Lego order no matter how small for weeks. But, around 4am
on the 1st night, I logged in, messaged all orders that I had open what occurred
and promptly closed up shop. Thankfully they all understood and it was no big
deal, but in this case we have a store that has been running almost flawlessly
for years and then suddenly they stop answering? Seems something else is up
and hopefully all is okay in the end.

its good to hear they were understanding! it doesn't sound like fun for that
to happen and it when it does one tends think of the worst
