I don't think it's very common for formerly happy buyers to Un-Register
themselves. But, this guy did:

Who goes from Loving LEGO to Not Wanting to Buy any more??

I feel bad for the guy -- I hope he didn't give up Lego for a silly girl
(or a future mother-in-law).

I helped to run an angling club for over 10 years as club secretary, member for
much longer.

It was very typical for our very keen junior members to participate up to the
age of approx 14 - 17 and then stop fishing completely.

They hadn’t fallen out of love for the sport/past time or converted to anti
angling groups but had, like most of us, discovered their interest in catching
a partner, in general, girls.

All our juniors were male and as far as I know straight, could have been wrong.

They invariably returned after a few years when their hormones settled down a
bit.

I suspect AFOLS leave BL for reasons of marriage, family commitments, work and
the like, possibly to return when they too feel that their lives have stabilised.

I can totally relate to that fishing story as that was me. Since I was knee high
to a Hovis sandwich, I used to get up early every weekend with my Dad to go out
to the local waters, or to the sea when on holiday, to fish. I started my 'A'
Levels and did a Saturday job and got a girlfriend (now wife) and I haven't
been fishing for the last 35 years. I never fell out of love with it, I just
fell in love with other things. At least I rekindled my love of Lego (thanks
to my wife, actually!).

I started the same way, went everywhere with my father who was a very keen angler.

We had a riverside bungalow below Stourport-on-Severn at Lincombe weir, absolute
paradise as a teenager for fishing.

Stopped fishing for awhile, parents sold the bungalow and we lost our father
to suicide, sad day.

Returned to fishing a few years later with my stepfather who helped to run a
youth angling association and fished for his works angling club.

Later we joined a private angling club that we both ended up helping to run,
we had, if I say so myself, a very successful time and became arguably the best
club in the area, every good angler wanted to join.

We fished many an outside organised competition, those of angling associations
and our own, up to five teams at times, some of my favourite memories and happiest
times outside of the family.

Fell on difficult times and ended up doing more admin than fishing, left the
club and have only been fishing a few times in many years.

Rediscovered Lego when tidying up some storage and later BL on line.
