Hi fellow members.

Had an awful experience with a buyer.

He complained that the item was late arriving, wrong packaging and quality poor.

He said I will leave feedback on the result of my reply !!!!


I used normal box packaging, items were fine, posted on 12th Dec. He got it
today.

Had to give him a refund......

He then left me positive feedback.

Very frustrating......

perhaps feedback extortion or maybe the buyer was right and the post office didn't
handle the package nicely and as would normally be the case a refund was provided
which solved the issue

it said the stuff was "quality poor" so I was referring to if the package
arrived all beat up with items damaged

I always send them a photo of the product before shipped and the product sitting
next to the address it is going to. Photos are time stamped and you can kinda
prove what is sent. But in reality you do not have to give a refund but yes they
have the ability to leave negative feedback. Costumer service can be a nightmare

got there if there were no other problems. It wouldn't surprise me if other
buyers have left negatives for late delivery for Christmas presents.

You shouldn't allow yourself to feel pressured into refunding anything until
you first at least give yourself fair opportunity to explain to the buyer the
reason why the package was delayed which will have no doubt been because of the
Royal Mail strike action!

When the buyer says "wrong packaging and quality poor" ask them to provide
photos of what has occurred and what it is they are unhappy with before refunding?

When the buyer brings feedback into conversation this is deemed as feedback extortion
and I would have told them as much and gone on to advise that they should leave
whatever feedback they feel necessary once the transaction and any agreed resolution/communications
are completed.
Feedback extortion shouldn't be used as a tool to influence a more favorable
resolution than is reasonable which appears to be the outcome here?. I mean what
was actually sent? was it a sealed set, minifigures, parts? In most cases I would
have thought a full refund should only be given upon return of the goods and
if the buyer insists on keeping what has been sent then only a part refund should
have been negotiated depending on the extent of the damage?

I agree with everyone thats said. Because we love lego. I couldn't care
