Specfically the robot. 4032 round 2x2 plate and 4592c02 lever part. Stud.io
will not allow level element to be placed in center of 2x2 round plate even though
it works in real LEGO part. I had to use a 2x2 jumper plate to place the level
element in center, then swapped the 2x2 jumper plate with 2x2 round plate to
get the correct robot look.

Not sure if it's a bug or if it's considered illegal now. I used the
exact part # from the catalog.

Hi,

As Nubs said, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search
box is in the very dark grey banner).
There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:
Studio: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5579
PartDesigner: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5589

That being said, I forwarded your bug to the devs.

As for placement, you could have used the WASD keys[1] or the Translation tool[2]
instead of having to swap parts… but that works too
