What's with all the disgruntled buyers communicating through feedback lately?

Today I got this: "Bad service. Said prices were incorrect and delivered an incomplete
order."

I received the order and discovered that I had accidentally listed 12 of Boat,
Hull Unitary 41 x 12 x 5 with Light Bluish Gray Top - New. Part No: 23997c01
for $.095 each.

I messaged the buyer: "It looks like there was an inventory error. I only have
one boat hull. The Bricklink Gremlins seem to be having fun with things again.
Not sure how I ended up with 12 available for 10 cents each instead of one for
$12. Congrats on the amazing deal!"

I then noticed that I was missing one of the minifigures ($3.60) that had been
ordered, so I messaged again: "I found another BL Gremlin issue with your order.
Chunk has wandered off and is nowhere to be found. I will be refunding $6 for
the inconvenience."

Order total was $31. $20 for a set, $10 in figs, and $1 in parts. $6 was refunded
and I shipped that $12 hull without complaint. It was well within my rights to
cancel the order outright. Technically I broke even on the transaction, but I
don't feel like I deserved a negative FB.

Thanks for listening to my vent.

I'm sorry for you for this harsh feedback

If this is important for you, why not fully refunding the buyer and asking him/her
to kindly remove the feedback, after?

I did this for a couple of orders. It's not buying feebacks (extortion?),
as you've to make the first move and hope for a reciprocal kindness. For
me it worked.

I barely believe in BrickLink gremlins.
There are some, but they're ULTRA rare IMHO.

Check this and the whole discussion:

In short, if you don't track what's in your inventory and every change,
the souvenir of it isn't enough - and your above example very looks like
to me as being an human error.

Take care of you -

I can understand your frustration and as a buyer I would not have issued negative
feedback after the matter has been settled in a generous way from your side.
But what would have really annoyed me is that you reported all the missing items
not in one message to your buyer but one after another with two separate messages.
It can happen that inventory is incorrect and parts can disappear. All fine and
it can be sorted out. But I would expect that a seller sends me exactly ONE message
reporting all of the missing items. Not as bits and pieces.
