Hi Forumites,

Does anyone know the ID of this 1x6 plate with holes, or what assembly it might
be from?

Thanks,

Steve

It's not an original part.

Also have one in red. Both parts look to be legitimate. Lego on the studs and
the holes for both parts line up perfectly and don't appear to have been
made by someone with a drill.

they definitely look like they are made with a drill but look like they were
made with more care then others so they look better

Yeah, I agree. The fact that there are slight ridges above and around the holes
indicates that studs were there, but have been drilled out, albeit very carefully.

Hmm, the ridges are not necessarily remnants of the studs.  I mean, there were
studs and the part was drilled but such ridges may form when you drill a flat
piece of plastic too.

I wanna say they aren't official parts, but at the same time I wonder if
they belong to something in the "gear" category, I looked through all the 1x6
parts in light gray, and nothing like that shows up

The holes look too clean to be done by a drill, but who knows

To clean to be done by a drill, but too rough to be molded that way

Probably machined out in some way, carefully, and not by Lego

I've drilled out lego pieces before and have been that neat.

They key is speed. Drills and dremels are way too fast and partially melt the
edges of the hole, leaving a mess. But if you buy a mini drill chuck on a hex
fitting, you can use it in an electric screwdriver and drill much slower to avoid
melting. And if you build a jig, you can do repetitive pieces accurately.
