Does anyone know the difference between a number and an integer? If so, please
work for BL.

On the inventory page, try entering 12.5 in the % off box. Any changes are rejected
and you are told "sale must be a number"!

In my Country we'd input 12,5

Just like for refunds or such, I never know if it accepts 12.5 or 12,5 and if
I remember well one of the pages is tricky for this

On the same page, prices are entered in the form 2.99 so presumably the point
symbol is the standard.

Yes, but as said, one is acting weird, don't remember if it's shipping
rates/options or refund. But of course no problem if you're on a locale
decimal separator "." and not "," like us.

The decimal separator also depends on your browser.  Some are smart, some are
not.

And, IIRC, some may also prevent entering non-integers when it’s not specified
in the code, for instance if you use an “input” field with the type “number”
but with an integer step, it won’t let you enter fractions.

I confirm the confusing page, it's in the Shipping Methods.

If you change the price ex here 3.20 to 3,20 = then it automatically translates
it to 3.20

But if you change the Weight Band 245.01 to 245,01 = then it shows 245,01

Which means I've no idea it it understands 245.01 or something weird else.

Which is also I always type those numbers using "." and never ","

Ah, I knew there had been a discussion about a similar problem: https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=280476&nID=1240320

That's the point: To comma or not to comma........

I used to code interfaces and user exits for SAP. I liked that number formats
were configurable to the user's country.

Yes, but BL is strictly US English, even part of them only - just see date and
time which means nothing to 90% of people, not counting terms like Tires and
Gray
