| Hi all
I got the same email as all of you I'd expect, about removing double accounts.
I only have one and I cannot imagine having two - except if I would be selling
professionally and buying privately, to keep such issues separate.
But - really why would you have 2+ accounts?
And if private and professional are needed, it would be two different accounts
as one would be by personal name and the other by company name and emails.
I just felt confused here

You're not alone .
Maybe it's because the namechange/claim call earlier this week and now Lego-site
names and BL-usernames do no longer align? I don't know.....

One common example is to test your shop’s settings as a buyer (because you can’t
buy from your shop and there’s no other way to see how your shop works). (Such
an account shouldn’t make real sales and shouldn’t have or leave feedback….)
It has also been proposed (but it’s not anymore) as a solution to margin VAT:
sell Used in one shop and New in another.
There’s also the problem that if you’re a seller, changing your country (for
a short time travel, a one-off transaction but still as a business, not for your
personal use) invalidates your seller verification and you need to re-verify.
Otherwise, and that’s the point of this general e-mail: you don’t need to and
you shouldn’t have multiple accounts.
But some people still do… and, apparently, they do it to circumvent laws (VAT).
So BL needs to intervene. So BL sends a message to everyone to close their other
accounts voluntarily and without consequences instead of waiting to be caught
in a future, less forgiving sweep.
And BL will ask sellers more info (proof of identity? proof of address? things
they didn’t ask to older sellers but are asking now to new sellers?) in order
to be able to detect multiple accounts more easily.
That’s how I read the e-mail.
