I need something to prop up a street that I'm building for a moc but the
levitation is too small for Duplo, so I need actual bricks.... I'm trying
to find the cheapest way right now and I've come to the conclusion that green
is quite cheap but is there anything cheaper?

I think in general, Yellow and Blue bricks would be cheapest, followed by Orange
and Lime. Also, some of the wacky Friends colors such as Bright Pink, Lavender,
Medium Lavender are cheap, depending on the size. Green and Red are likely on
the lesser expensive end, also.

Basically, the cost of bricks when buying CLASSIC sets is quite low, especially
when found at Discount or Sale prices, giving you bricks for only a few pennies
each.

Using a mix of colors and sizes of whatever you can find at lowest cost will
ultimately be the least costly.

You didn't tell us what sizes of bricks you prefer.

Perhaps what you really need are what are sometimes sold as and referred to as
"Filler Bricks" which are old, used, damaged, discolored bricks for when appearance
does not matter. Naturally, buying USED bricks should cost less per piece than
buying NEW parts, whether here on BrickLink or anywhere else.

Don't forget about Technic Bricks. Using Technic Bricks (Beams) can help
you span large areas and offer you good support without having to fill every
space with Lego parts. When doing so, the 1x2 brick with two pins can make a
strong connector that is very inexpensive:

Part No: 30526 Name: Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Pins
*
30526 Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Pins
Parts: Brick, Modified {Blue}

I know that some builders, including myself, have made extensive use of the 2x4
brick with pins to make strong, hidden structures and is generally available
at very low cost:

Part No: 6249 Name: Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Pins
*
6249 Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Pins
Parts: Brick, Modified {Red}

Right now, I have a MOC of a sizeable Pirate wharf with elevated docks that I
built using a whole bunch of these that I had sitting mostly unused for years:

Part No: 4209  Name: String Reel 2 x 4 x 2 Holder
*
4209 String Reel 2 x 4 x 2 Holder
Parts: String Reel / Winch {Red}

Part No: 73037 Name: String Reel Winch 2 x 4 x 2 (Light Gray Drum)
*
73037 String Reel Winch 2 x 4 x 2 (Light Gray Drum)
Parts: String Reel / Winch {Yellow}

I have another MOC that required a lot of strength to support large open spans,
so I used long 2x plates overlapped and sandwiched together to make brick-height
horizontal lattice that includes joints and corners. That building is very lightweight,
yet strong and will never break apart by itself.

I guess a lot comes down to being creative with what you have already combined
with whatever additional Lego you are able to acquire or purchase. Your end
solution might not be using only one type of part, such as 2x4 or 1x8 bricks,
but a combination of different parts.

Good Luck and Happy Building.

or maybe windows or door frames

Part No: 60598  Name: Window 2 x 4 x 3 - Hollow Studs
*
60598 Window 2 x 4 x 3 - Hollow Studs
Parts: Window {Red}

Part No: 4130  Name: Door, Frame 2 x 4 x 5

I've seen a few MOCs recently using these windows and door frames ! They're
useful and cheap !

Most sellers have heaps of damaged parts they would sell cheaply by weight, with
teeth marks, stains and so on, that work perfectly well for invisible areas.
I haven't looked into those myself, but there might be super lots with filler
bricks, b-ware, damaged, or similar names up for sale. Or maybe someone near
you with a crate of those is reading this?

Add all the parts you need to your wanted list with the color marked as “Not
Applicable” so when you use the “buy all” feature, it will give you the cheapest
options. I think this’ll be your best bet

I would say yellow by default.
I do not want a fruity coloured build - that's grotesque!
