I purchased a sealed set 4489-1 (AT-AT - Mini) outside of BrickLink. There is
nothing to indicate that the plastic packaging has been tampered with, and the
seals look intact. However, I see that the front of the packaging has the hollow
mold of a brick in it, yet the mold is empty.

Does anyone know if that mold is supposed to contain a brick (or other item),
or is it supposed to be empty?

As popsicle said, no, the set does not include a brick that would fill the brick-shaped
spot behind the clear plastic front of the set package. You definitely got me
thinking though; I bought all those Star Wars mini sets back in the day, and
I never gave it a second thought that the plastic package is molded to be in
the shape of a part that is not in the set. And now here I am, almost 20 years
later, wondering why they did that.

I imagine it was designed for use with other sets but then got used up on these.
Not that I can remember sets that had a brick in there.
