| Hey everyone. I've been selling on bricklink for almost a year now and I
was wondering if anyone has ever encountered a buyer who lied about not receiving
their order in hopes of getting a refund or free replacement.
I know 99.9% of buyers are genuinely good people and wouldn't do that, but
I know that this is something that does happen quite often on other online marketplaces,
and I'd like to be prepared in the event that someone does try it. Does bricklink
offer any kind of seller protection for these kinds of situations? I mainly sell
minifigures which I'm able to ship for cheap, but without tracking/insurance.
Thanks in advance!

that stuff does happen but is not as major of an issue as you might think. after
shipping over 5000 orders (mostly lettermail across multiple sites) I've
only had a handful never arrive in which case I just refund and move on

Nope, not that I know of

Insurance is for the seller not the buyer so whether a buyer buys it or not the
seller is still fully liable for its delivery.
| Thanks in advance!

I suggest never sending without a Tracking Number. I use a Mail program like
Stamp dot com and they always provide a tracking number. Even with shipping overseas
I recommend sending with tracking. that way it protects you and the buyer.
If its a large expensive order I also suggest Insuring it for safety as well.

Unfortunately that's not a feasible option in Canada as purchasing tracking
will cost an additional $10 plus tax (so in Ontario $11.30) on top of the $2-$3
for shipping so 99% of orders in Canada never get any tracking at all. and that's
if it can go lettermail (under 2cm) if its any larger you have to ship it parcel
which starts at about $10-$22 depending where you are shipping to

| I know many times tracking, even from Amazon was simply false, or lying (often
for the delivery guy to make his life easier...)
On day they said it was delivered, with date time signature etc, but we received
the parcel only the next day.
Another day it was to be shipped to a requested relay, was said delivered and
it was waiting for us - but in fact it's been delivered to another relay
10 miles away...
I don't think I encountered a "buyer lying" (about not having received) in
16 years and 60K+ shipped orders.
Crossing fingers anyway.
And of course, continent, countries, sellers may show different stats...
