| While searching for Items for Sale by color, 'Very Light Gray' is not
recognized as color name. I get 'The following keywords were excluded from
your search: very'.
What did they do to the search box algorithm this time? Or has this specific
search always failed?
---
The order of processing the search request should be:
(1) strip the leading color name if any ( 'very light gray' )
(2) replace 'space x space' by 'x' for dimensions
(3) apply the exclude words algorithm (but it should be done with a vocabulary
frequency list relevant to the Bricklink context only! It would make much more
sense to completely skip this step.)
(4) find the matching lots for sale based on the remaining search phrase ( 'tile'
)
---
How to find these lots now?
Searching without color filter gives the entire 2,002,093 lots of 'tile'.
As if the rare word 'very' is more common in our Bricklink database than
the common word 'tile'.
In this case I could just check each of the few tiles that exist in this color
separately, but how to get them together in a single search like for any other
color?

You could go into the store page, under "Parts" click "By Color".
Niek.

| Hmm, I tried using quotes around the colour: “very light gray” (and don’t click
on the auto-completion, it removes the quotes) but that only gave me the items
with “very light gray” in their description (so a few parts and DUPLO figs).
Otherwise, use https://www.bricklink.com/searchAdvanced.asp (click the magnifying
glass in the top search box) and use the colour dropdown.

Thanks for trying and reminding me of the advanced search feature
https://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?viewFrom=sa&itemType=P&colorID=49&q=tile&searchSort=C&sz=500
is indeed the list I was looking for,
(And I got my answer: this color is too rare to even try using it in the model
I'm working on.)
