| I enquired a seller about two sets she had for sale and asked for a price.
She came back to me saying she had sold one and only one left. So I asked if
I could collect. Never came back to me and increased the price of the set by
60 euro.
I had no official order placed, and the quote request was through regular message,
so not "official".
I guess sellers can do what they like, but this is just bad practice. And nothing
can be done about it either.
Thoughts?

I'd stoplist them. I'd also suggest that you consider letting them know
you stoplisted them and why; it might make them realize that such a practice
is hurting their store and not benefiting them.

Don’t stoplist, as been suggested, it doesn’t benefit you.
You might “Least Favorite” their store with comments or notes. When your paths
cross again, and they might, you’ll know how to better treat with them. Info
gained through experience is useful, use it to your benefit. Start creating notes
on others you’ve transacted with, rather than go the shutting~out route.

Thanks, she obviously cannot be trusted, so not sure if I want to cross paths
again.
But this place is weird anyway, I have 5 sellers stop listed me and I have no
idea why. One of them stop listed me when I was just new here and never interacted
with them before.
Cheers

| I wouldn’t worry to much. Some Sellers stop list people for any reason even if
it’s just a forum post (sometimes justified but sometimes just since they didn’t
like what was said) I’ve been stop listed by many stores and haven’t lost any
sleep over it

Petit joueur
I wasn’t on the forum for 6 months that I already had 6.
Well, it hasn’t changed since, so i guess the sellers are softer nowadays. Another
thing that was better before…

Hello, how do you know how many people have you "stop listed" and that means
blocked from buying from them correct? The only way I would know would be if
I tried to buy and was denied

As a seller, you can’t see who stoplists you. The link sends you to the list
of people YOU stoplisted.
The option in the URL is ignored now. It was changed a few years ago, to prevent
stoplist wars or something.
Only buyers can see who stoplists them… because they can’t stoplist anyone from
their inexistant store
IOW: it’s the 2 people you have stoplisted because it’s who you’ve stoplisted,
not because they stoplisted you

Ah, no, if you're a seller you can only see the buyers you've blocked.
If you're a buyer (only) then you can see the sellers who have blocked you.

Sure it stings to feel you lost out on what you thought was a really good deal.
However, you made no commitment to buy, and the seller made no commitment to
sell. Sellers frequently receive inquiries that never result in a sale, so why
would they need to hold an item at a particular price?
It would be bad practice if the seller had attempted to increase the price (or
claim the item was no longer available) after you placed an order.

I did make a commitment to buy, I told her I would buy the set, this was in writing.
So it is commitment. I couldn't place the order because I was forced to request
a quote. Correct, she didnt commit to sell, instead she ignored me and raised
the price
Anyway, I think it is bad practice.

Mmmmh, I'd rather either place an order or an official quote instead of sending
e-mail/contact...
If you couldn't, then it's not really nice, even if - I don't think
- not forbidden.
Seeing what she did, maybe you've been lucky not to be able to buy it
