| Hi,
I have had a new buyer (but he says experienced seller and buyer elsewhere) unhappy
and state we sent 2 new small pieces (value 0.10 GBP) that were not Lego - his
evidence being they were not embossed (if that is even the correct word - I
assume it is just in the detail of the mould?) with Lego.
In this case it was 2 small barbs (53451) that do not have Lego embossed on them
- so we could provide unbiased evidence in any future case? He said he had some
with a part number - I explained about mould variants. From a quick look through
the hundreds of 53451 I have I have not found a part number on one, so could
not supply one that did, but not got out a magnifying glass.
We have tried to explain that our New Lego is all straight from Lego or Lego
Pick a brick but still offered to refund. After this he requested to send us
his wanted list to supply other pieces free instead of a refund. We said we would
only refund, as he was not happy with our order or customer service, but not
send different part number at our expense. I did suggest he had a look on the
internet where he would find plenty of evidence that some genuine small Lego
pieces did not have Lego embossed, without sending him a link, so he did not
think we influenced his search. He has submitted a NSS and left negative feedback
- we will have gone ahead with refund, in full as we intended to do anyway, as
he is new to the site.
He sent many messages at times within a 10 minute window as we had not responded
as we were asleep, at another point we had explained we had some personal difficulties
currently but would respond as soon as we were working within 24 hours. His total
order including shipping was GBP3.65. If this happened again I just wondered
if there was an official link/evidence we could have sent him as he is convinced
we are lying and I would not want to bring bricklink's reputation into disrepute,
but short of us videoing every new set we open and attaching it to an order when
it contain small pieces I am not sure how I can prove we only sell genuine Lego.
Is there anywhere on the forum, or better still from Admin or Lego that can confirm
some small pieces do not have Lego embossed? Really tired, so apologise if this
has repetitions, typos or does not make sense, I just wanted some advice ASAP
quickly. but only had 10 minutes and have not proof read it.
Thanks
Alison and Julie

| If I remember correctly, there is a page somewhere that shows a bunch of tiny
variants of a hinge piece, some of which do not have the Lego logo, but I don't
know how to get to that page.
But yeah, tons of small lego pieces do not have the lego logo. Bars, claws, hair
and helmets all have variants without the logo or part number.

Yes! That's the page! Thank you!
To OP: The page Stuart9 links to says the following, "The absence of markings,
a copyright symbol, or the word LEGO does not necessarily indicate a non-LEGO
item."

| Hi,
I can confirm that out of the 100's of 53451 I have, not one has a LEGO logo.
So either they're all fake, or your buyer is incorrect.
If it was me; refund order and stoplist the buyer.

It doesn’t have a part number, educate the buyer and if they don’t listen:

The buyer has already outed themselves through feedback, so any sellers wanting
to avoid this buyer making similar unfounded complaints against them can also
do the same.

That is what we tried to do, but he just says he is experienced and we were wrong.
Just waiting to be a bit less wound up before leaving his feedback.
Anyway know how long it takes for Admin to remove NSS after full refund?

and it has been weeks without any reply.

| Sorry that this happened to you. It seems to be a problem that is here to stay.
Hopefully, this new member will come to a better understanding of LEGO history
beyond their own direct observation. One has to be amazed at the hubris: 0 feedback
vs. 35,000+ asserting that they have experience and know what they are talking
about more than you.
Take care,
Jen

| Thanks Jen and everyone else. Greatly appreciated. I did try to explain to them
that Bricklink was a community of people (buyers and sellers) whom were passionate
about Lego and just wanted to 'Play well' , you have demonstrated that
in practice.
Jen contacted them and they have graciously now removed the feedback. I assume
the NSS will go eventually. Has also led to a good English lesson with a discussion
on teh difference between Hubris and arrogance over breakfast!
