New buyer, bought a vintage fig. Sent out no issues when received etc.

Today I get a paypal dispute (wth??) I figure out its a brickink transaction
but have heard nothing here, no communication, nada.

Guy broke a vintage figure trying to pry off the arm, he said it must be fake
because this happens AND there's no logo inside the feet.

I respond with "that color from that era breaks easily, and I've never even
heard about a logo inside the feet (which I just checked some when I got home,
looks like some had it and some don't, which is typical for lego)

I then realize he's left me a neg with the pretty serious accusation of the
fig being fake.

He refuses to send pics of the hips and torso with the logo.

I think he broke it and is just crying fake to get a refund. I told paypal I'd
refund him on its return. The stupid part is if he had just messaged me I probably
would have just refunded it to be nice to a fellow collector.

When I see a seller with a feedback score over 1000, and they have 1 single negative
feedback ever from a buyer with a feedback score of 2, I would have no problem
buying from that seller.

oh I agree, and thank you for that.

I guess this is more about me warning other sellers and less about me complaining
about the FB honestly.

I feel like negative feedback should be able to be appealed to Bricklink if the
seller offers to pays a refund and return shipping on a return or with any partial
refund offer that the buyer accepts. That already puts the seller at a loss on
the transaction at the buyer's terms.

Seeing long term, high volume members have scores tainted by new members who
might not be entirely trust worthy, reasonable or even over 18 seems very unfair.

Thank you, I immediately agreed to a full refund on return at my cost when I
saw the dispute, just how I am, I want everyone happy even if they are wrong.
Then I hop on here and see the Feedback and I was like...really?????? BRUH.

I think all my neutrals were also new buyers at the time.

You are a great seller, and buyer. You will come across this eventually. I wouldn't
be the least hesitant to purchase from your store.

As far as a vintage figure is concerned, I try to do as little adjustment as
possible. I think the buyer may have damaged it themselves. I certainly would
not have jumped right to stating you are selling bogus figs.

Could also be a switcheroo, where the buyer already had a damaged item and is
trying to switch for an undamaged one for free.

Yeah I had never hear of this, I checked some vintage figs and they didn't
have it, and some more modern ones and they did. At least I learned something
out of this. *shrug*

Just got a paypal notification that they decided the case in my favor because
the dude never responded.

(I offered full refund on its return) so the dude was literally too lazy to finish.

So the Jury is in, "idiot" is the decision

I still have that stupid feedback though. Booo

Maybe not so much an idiot as someone who is still learning the ropes. There
seems to be a lot of paranoia about fake lego recently. Is it justified? Perhaps.

A bit unrelated, but what minifigure was it? I'm assuming it was one with
a reddish brown torso (hence why it broke) but I'm curious to see why the
buyer would even try to pry off the arm in the first place; they're clearly
BS-ing due to their own stupidity as the Lego logo is imprinted on the neck part
of the torso, the inner arms, and the "T" groin piece of the legs (usually) so
if the buyer won't provide images of the "fake" they received, it's on
them and PayPal should side with you

"russian guard 2"

They broke the arm off leaving the socket inside the torso. Why on earth someone
would try to remove the arm is beyond me anyway, but whatever.

They provided pics of it broken, and a pic of the feet to "prove" its a fake.
I honestly can't tell if its intentional or stupidity

I really can’t imagine why someone is setting this up for a figure worth €7.-
if it was a rare boba fett with printed arms I could understand why you would
fake it but for that €7.-?!
I would definitly pay €7.- if I could buy that negative feedback away with that

If I looked at the feedback as a prospective buyer, I'd trust the long established
seller with lots of feedback and not this new buyer with little history and has
already started building up negative feedback from more than one seller and has
left it for more than one too.

I'm guessing that the torso has the long prongs and not just the small "teeth"?
I've gotten broken arms out of the latter type by pushing the broken piece
out through the arm hole, but there's no room to work with the former kind.

Sounds like a scam to me.

I amputate figures all the time for MOCs... but blaming the seller for old parts
cracking after receiving them is ridiculous.

They left feedback with the same claim (and wording!) on another seller, so I
assume that this is some kind of scam.

Lol make it more obvious why don't you, dude tries it back-to-back
The only fake things here are his claims

"not sure if the seller knew or not but it definitely was"

man that wording really makes me mad lmao

Ironic this buyer did this so soon after BL put closer watches/restrictions on
stores for fake/fraudulent minifigures. 🤨

Yep, that's my store. I've contacted the buyer, and will see what they
say.

What minifig did they buy from you?

They purchased an Indiana Jones iaj001 minifig. Inspected it before shipping
it out, and it was in good condition at the time. I would think its genuine,
as I have another one in my store that is definitely real that came from the
same collection.

Thanks.

Yeah, definitely a pattern here then; seems like they were trying to scam some
free Indiana Jones minifigs

I see.

Hopefully BL will step in and fix it, if you go thru the Problem Center and request
a feedback removal I'm sure they'll approve it

Yep, already done.

Thanks for your help!

Looks like the same negative feedback was left for me. Sent a relatively new
figure too, so it shouldn't have broken (easily, at least).

No communication from the buyer either. That's really unfortunate.

Hope this gets resolved soon.

I hope you leave appropriate feedback saying they broke a minifigure and demanded
a refund. A couple of negatives for the same thing might help other sellers (that
check buyer feedback) to decide to cancel any orders from them rather than get
scammed too.

It seems this buyer already has a couple of complaints lodged against them: https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?u=solarcurtain

I know, but one is a NPB, so another one indicating that they are claiming to
receive fakes will hopefully warn sellers about what they are doing. The buyer
edited their feedback to remove the reason, just complaint about being stoplisted
instead.

My vote is idiot if he tried to pry the arm off a vintage figure.

IMO, the arms were never intended to be pried off, so once anyone decides to
do so, they should be accepting responsibility for the outcome.

Sellers of used figs replace cracked arms all the time. Sometimes torsos crack
during that process and that loss is just part of it. Can you imagine if we went
to our sources and complained that a few of the torsos cracked and expected a
refund for those?

Idiot: "I can't believe this broke when I was using it in a way that it
wasn't intended that has has one of the highest probabilities to damage it!,
this seller deserves neg fb for sure!"
