Hi

Does anyone know what has happened to the selection on the online Pick a Brick
site (formerly Bricks n Pieces)?

There is almost nothing on there these days - no new stuff such as torsos, accessories,
animals, etc, just the usual standard parts.

Is this a new policy from LEGO or do you think it's a temporary situation?
If it's the latter, it's been going on for a while.

Thanks in advance.

No new parts will be or exclusive parts will be made available to the public.
Only for missing parts in a set.

Was this on new elementary or elsewhere? This is really a bummer.

Customer services sometimes say it. Although it is not true, as there are exclusive
parts that appear in a single set available on there. I imagine they want to
hold newer parts back these days, as their availability were stopping some people
buying sets. Although I doubt they have specific rules, instead they do what
they like, when they like.

About rules of the new service:
“We have received assurance that the uncommon elements available from Bricks
& Pieces, such as unique printed pieces, will continue to be available on the
new merged platform, although their release may take slightly longer than is
currently the case.”
https://brickset.com/article/68955

But, AFAIU, concerning parts availability, there’s been delays in setting it
up and logistical problems (following COVID and the lack of containers and whatnot).

Hmm, it’s showing 11139 parts available and 12393 if I show the unvailable ones…
that’s 10% unvailable… but, of course, they are the most wanted ones (like many
animals).

Now, if they are ‘out of stock,’ that means that there’s times when they are
available….

One could wonder if some BL sellers aren’t grabbing them as soon as they are
available

(Ooh, they finally added an option to have more than 20 items per page!
Just needs a not-DUPLO filter now….)

Thanks Sylvain! This is good news.

I find it interesting that for the 400 newest parts, 227 of them are out of stock
and about half of those do not have an image yet. Seems like Bricklink is
not the only place to have this issue. (This is not any hate directed towards
anyone, I love our catalog admin folks, they have a hard and often thankless
job!)

According to information from LEGO the reason they aren't selling 2022 parts
on the service right now is that if they did, they would receive too many orders
and they wouldn't be able to cope with it. Apparently they are looking into
options that would allow them to sell 2022 parts without causing the system to
collapse although they haven't indicated anything about what they might do.

Isn’t this information from one LEGO CS worker rather than an official statement.
