I've previously shared a video of my application here... Someone asked for
the program on youtube so I decided to share here too in case someone finds it
useful.
Program takes an input image and resizes it to 48x48 and uses only colors found
in the Beatles Art set to approximate the colors for the given image.
It has 3 modes,
1. Unrestricted : No limit on the amount of pieces. Best approximation but given
image can't be built with a single Beatles set (Most of the time not with
many either)
2. Unrestricted with dithering : The only difference is that dithering applied
in final image.
3. Restrict piece count : From the center of the image program processes the
image in a spiral and each color is used with best approximation and satisfying
total count for each color. In this way, center of the image is generated with
best approximation but outer perimeters may look weird. With careful selection
of source image and with some pre/post processing you can just employ a single
beatles set to create a good portrait for your liking.
